How to add BF3 to steam

Hello, I have not seen a guide for this on OCN so I'm making one real quick...

Ive got it working on mine, its pretty easy.

All you have to do is add Orgin to ur steam library and rename Orgin to BF3. You can rename it in Steam by right clicking on it and going to properties.

Once you do that exit Orgin fully and restart it through Steam and ur done.

Ive seen guides that say you need to disable the Orgin in game overlay for Steam to work but this is not true. If you follow the simple steps listed here you will be able to use both Steam and Orgin in game.

Enjoy!

What does that do ? Does it enable steam-play environment to origin ? Adding origin to steam how does it know which game to open ?

A decent game released without steam, and you want it to run in steam? Why?

Works fine, my computer freezes for a few seconds when I click on "Play" on steam to open Origin, but works fine after that.

There is no need to add the actual Origin client to Steam. You can add Battlefield 3 specifically...

The easiest way is to open Steam, navigate to the "Games" menu at the top-left of the screen, and select "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library..."

From there, simply check the box beside Battlefield 3 in the list of programs that pops up, and then click the "Add Selected Programs" button.

What this does is add a shortcut to the Battlefield 3 launcher (bf3.exe) that Origin has installed on your computer. Once you launch it, it will automatically open Origin for you, select Battlefield 3 from "My Games", and launch it (and the BattleLog in your web browser).

Now that Battlefield 3 is in your Steam Library, you can launch it (along with Origin) right from there

Adding the BF3.exe does not work. Obviously I tried that first.
