Switching Cpu out for Better one?

Thread Starter
I've recently put together a nice rig, but when i go to over clock/ or just normally restart the computer it has problems coming back on and the mobo is saying the anti surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit. I'm going to return the cpu, not sure if i should return mobo(what do you think) OR would this Cpu be good enough for bf3/mw3 if psu is upgraded. Would this Cpu be good stock and at overclock-

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103996

I need it for multitasking/ Playing Games like Bf3 or mw3

I Ran a utility called turbo key when i activated it my system froze with like lines in the screen.

Also what a decent amount of wattage psu should i get?

A 955 or 965 will do fine by your rig. Far better than the CPU you linked.
Your PSU should be fine too.

Well first of all, your motherboard is not compatible with Bulldozer, so dont buy that chip, and second, Wattage in PSU's rarely tell you much, 680W continuous power is A LOT of power, but your rid would probably only be pulling tops 300W, if your system is telling you that its not enough, i would speculate that something is wrong with that unit, i would suggest getting an antec Earthwatts 500W, or some brand name PSU, 500W is more than enough for what your system demands, even if u switch mobo and CPU, if u are still down with a new CPU, i would grab an AMD PH II x6. but for overclocking i HIGHLY suggest a better motherboard and PSU

This Ps is a Cheap 30 Dollar psu off ebay, Im pretty sure it gives out half of what it says, also it stays under 12 volts like 11.91 when i use vga instead of my graphics card it goes over 12 lol.. I was looking at these brand psus/ Antec, corsair, thermaltake, OCZ , and RAIDMAX, Which ones would be best to choose from? If this mobo isn't good enough for overcloccking what would be? im trying to spend around 100 ish on the mobo??

Give people some time. Often people post and leave their computers to do other things.

That said, I'd avoid RAIDMAX and Thermaltake. Antec, Corsair, and Seasonic are my favorites, personally.
