@Zzyzx...thanks for the link. I have never seen that web site before. I have thought about 2 smaller panels adjacent to a center larger panel. This idea led to my current idea of having three 27" panels. I like the idea of surrounding myself with panels.
@10e...your comments are well received. Maybe my desire for an NEC or Eizo is purely ego. Very soon my new build, the "Star Trek Voyager Warp Core Case" will be complete:
http://www.overclock.net/case-mod-wo...t-voyager.html. I have spent over a year designing this PC. With the help of FrozenQPCMods, we have begun building. After all of this work, I guess I wanted the very best monitors for my new build.
But, I am not a professional photographer. I know I have a deep appreciation for photography and will notice - and appreciate - the differences between a Dell and an NEC or an Eizo. But I mainly use my computer for work (i.e., writing academic papers for publication and conducting research online)...probably 85% of the time. I will be getting into day trading very soon, but again multiple Dell U2711 or Dell U3011 will be more than sufficient for my needs. I play games only about 10% of the time.
The next time Dell has a 25% off sale on their monitors, I can get three Dell U2711s. I am trying to imagine what that will look like.
Question for everyone:
If you had three 27" screens or 30" screens (any brand), would you have them in the horizontal position, or turn them all vertically? With the Dell model I will probably have to remove the base so I can connect the monitors to a custom-built stand. Does anyone know if the stands on the Dell or HP can be removed so I can install a VESA mount?
Thanks!
