Turning Off Auto, What Is My Default/Stock Config

Hey OCN.

So I'm delving more into overclocking but I've hit a brick wall, into the BIOS everything is set to AUTO as default so I'm not sure where to set some values at. Some are obvious but other aren't and it's leaving me very puzzled.

Here is a list of configurable options in my "Jumper Free" tab that I don't know what to set the default as..

CPU/NB Frequency: Auto, 4.00x, 5.00x, 6.00x ... 20.00x
not sure what this does or what the default would be :S

VDDNB Overvolt: what do these voltages apply to?

CPU VDDA Voltage: again..what does this apply to?

Loadline Calibration: 0%, 3.225%, 6.450% ...100%
once again, what is this and what's the default

HT Link Frequency: 200mhz, 400mhz, 600mhz...2600mhz
default? effects?

HT Overvoltage: 1.20000-1.30000
whats the default?

Chipset Over Voltage: 1.10000 - 1.61000
Why would I change the voltage for the chipset? and what would the default be?

Any information on any of these would be great. Thanks in advance OCN

your defaults should be as follows:
CPU-NB: 10x
VDDNB: 1.300V
CPU VDDA: 2.500V
LLC: 20%
HT Link Frequency: 1800 MHz (9x)
HT Overvolt: 1.200V
Chipset Voltage: 1.100V

1)The Northbridge frequency affects through put of on your PCI-E and DIMM Slots. In other words the Northbridge is the connection between the CPU and everything else. Overclocking the Northbridge can give noticeable performance increases.

2)The VDDNB is another voltage input to the Northbridge, often chips will have multiple voltage inputs. often one for the communication between the chip and others and another for the chips core processor.

3)The CPU VDDA is another voltage input that is usually left alone it is for one of the peripherals to the Core I believe the onboard memory controller
LLC stands for Line Load Calibration it is designed to compensate for the inherent voltage drop of the Vcore that results from increased load.

4)HT link is the Link between the CPU and the Northbridge. The Higher the frequency the more throughput. The HT link is often a fixed 4-16 bit wide interface.

5)The chipset voltage is the voltage input to the Southbridge. As the south bridge only handles communication between I/O devices and the North Bridge, Overclocking is rather Pointless. The south bridge voltage should only be changed if it is unstable.
