Rampage IV Extreme (X79) 1366 adaptor

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

Just seen the Rampage IV Extreme for LGA 2011 and it looks very nice indeed.

I am curious, however, about the 1366 cooling bracket they have included, to allow people to use their old 1366 CPU coolers on a 2011 processor.

Will a 1366 cooler be worse than the new crop of 2011 coolers? I ask because I have been looking at the H100 of late and am wondering if they'll bother making a new, better one for the 2011 processors...

Thanks for your advice.

if anything it would be in Corsair's best interest to probably make a unit with a thicker rad, and maybe made of copper instead of crappy aluminum

Dont mock the H100. Keeps my 2600k @ 5Ghz under 60C.

OK, that was a bit stupid of me. Now I've got to save up for a 3960X + R4E + 64GB RAM (the R4E does support 8GBx8, right?)

I just got an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro rev. 2 for my REIV just to compensate for a week until my Watercooling stuff gets here. Now I can't mount it. The Holes in the Mainboard in which the bracket's nobs are supposed to hold it down seem to be a bit to big to properly hold the bracket in place. Anyone know why this doesn't work?
