124 bsod when turning monitor on

Thread Starter
I'm trying to get my system stable at 4.5 GHz, at 2.85v I seem to be very close. However when running prime for over 12 hours, the system seems to crash as soon as I turn the monitor back on. When looking at other data about the crashes BlueScreenView tells me hall.dll was the cause together with ntoskml.exe. Though it seems like that they could mean anything. So now I'm going to run another prime blend session at 1.295v, but besides upping the vcore do you have any other suggestions?
Any insight or help is appreciated

The fact that you're even able to boot into Windows at 4.5 GHz with 1.285v makes me jealous.

As for what else you can do, make sure to enable *Internal PLL Overvoltage* since you're going for an OC of 4.5+ GHz. And yes, keep adding vCore in small increments until it's as stable as you like.

EDIT I edited like 5 times, so I hope you got all of it.

Ah thanks!
I had PLL Overvoltage disabled as there were indication of it making vertex 3 ssd's bsod, though never confirmed.
I will try it, it's like the last setting I haven't tried actually (besides vcore).

Also disable your screen saver and don't let the monitor turn off. Change to never while running prime. Use the button on your monitor to turn on and off during prime. It helps. You can change it back after your done with prime.

Yeah I thought off disabling the monitor turning off, however I feel that my system should be stable even when it is turning off.

Would the 'Render standby' setting have any impact on this? It's currently enabled.

I've pll disabled now and I'm going to test the system again this evening. I've already run 20 IBT's at max, vcore seems to fluctuate a bit more.
My bios setting aren't special, everything is default except the multiplier and the vcore. I did try almost every other setting, however they made no difference for this particularly stability problem. Probably because the system is almost stable.
btw. 2.75 was already close to stable

Maybe because of my awesome graphics card.., but I do also have one from a good batch.

If your running 4gig sticks of ram, you should apply a little more vccio. Try 1.100v and that may help you keep the Vcore down a little. I run 1.175v vccio

yes I am, though I've tried 1.15 and 1.20 with no luck. I will try 1.10v as well if the current setting fails. It would be easier if stress testing wouldn't take 12+ hours for each setting...
