Sennheiser 555 Tilting problem

Thread Starter
Hi OCN people,
Got my Sennheiser 555's about a week ago from fear (awesome trader, don't know how to leave feedback), listened to them without a problem for that week. Today I noticed that when I tilt my head to the side, the left ear cushion (the one with the cord attached) gives off a buzzing sound and decreased music clarity. I tried it with both my desktop and my laptop, even the back port on my desktop. Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there any fix for this? (please don't tell me to stop tilting my head...)

Try turning the volume to max for like a minute; don't worry, the headphones won't get damaged. Most likely something(piece of particle/hair) got stuck.

Lol, such a fast response from the Sennheiser God. I tried that but the problem still persisted. If its some sort of a particle, I'll check it out along with doing the 595 mod tomorrow.

Finally got around to doing the foam mod, got both pieces in a drawer now. However, the headphones still buzz around. Its only with classical music that I notice the buzzing, but now its with me even while I'm sitting right up. The only thing I've found wrong with the left side was that the paper had a small tear about 1mm across. Sennheiser must've been using super quality paper. If anyone wants to offer any sort of advice, I'd be happy to read it.

If there's a tear, you'll need a replacement driver. Spare single drivers are available.

I thought drivers were the magnets used to vibrate the air. The thing paper pulp is also part of the driver?
