Thread Starter
my Ultra X4 1600-Watt Modular Power Supply voltages was wondering if they are to high and if the power supply is bad.

V12 is 12.52
V5 is 5.3
V3.3 is 3.6

Just wondering, what do you plan on doing with 1600w?

Both minor rails are out of spec(and not just slightly).. how did you measure them?

It is only 1200W...it switches into a 1600W max output only if you're on a 20A breaker circuit....from what I've been reading it doesn't even achieve the bronze efficiency rating on the box, at any output.

If your getting your voltage readings from ANY program inside of Windows, it's probably not accurate. You need to test each rail with an actual PSU tester to get correct readings.

It's a alright PSU. It's basically a re-branded X3 that JG designed. What did you use to monitor?

You made a thread asking for advice on the issue, and you received four pages worth of it.. still you decided to ignore all replies and suggestions and went with a trash 1.6 KW unit for a system that draws below 300W at full load.. you're getting mid 60% efficiency on it on pretty much everything you do except heavy gaming and the lower rails stay so much out of spec that I wonder how that system manages to turn on.. really, your PSU choice is beyond poor, I don't think you could have done worst even if you tried;)

i payed under 100$ for the power supply for it being a open box. so it was a good deal. the voltages were taken with a Meter while the computer was on.

issue i am having with it if i use any full screen games at all the power supply shuts down.

also shuts down running rthdribl and prime95 at full res. where my other power supply doesn't.

we also had a PSU tester that showed the same voltages i drove 200 miles to get a power supply and they just happened to have that for around what i had to spare.
