H100 or Noctua nh-d14 for i7-2600k OC

Thread Starter
Hi i'm building a new rig and was wondering which cooler I should get? I am planning to OC my cpu which is the i7-2600k and was wondering which one I should choose. Probably going to OC to 4ghz or more limit is 4.5 if anything. I will probably leave the computer on for a long periods of time so I was wondering which fits best for me. Is the H100 and noctua nh-d14 tempature cooling any huge difference or about the same?

The higher you overclock the better the H100 is. It keeps my CPU very cool, 26 degrees cool idle at 25 ambient temp and 68 load @5.1 ghz or 60-64 @ 4.8 or 55-57 @ 4.5-4.6 ghz. Easy to install, can put 4 fans on it and go push/pull. Qualitty cpu block and pump. Quiet. Beats Noctua NHD14 on load temps but equals it or is beaten by it at idle. My vote goes to Corsair H100 since the price diffrence is minimal.

You can OC and got to 4.8 easy at 1.32 Core Voltage the i7 2600k . The CPU starts to degrade past 1.45. You can even take on 5ghz at 1.41. But for 24/7 i like to be cautious and sit at 4.8 @ 1.32
