Yup cmeeks isn't kidding. 4.4 GHz I need 1.3v. 4.5 GHz needed 1.36v. And 4.6 GHz needed exactly 1.4v. I can't imagine what 5.0 GHz would need with my chip!

I'm so jealous of all those users who get 5.0 GHz with ~1.35v...

The P8Z68-M PRO is a uATX Form Factor while the P8Z68-V LE is a ATX form factor.

The M Pro has:
a display port,
one less pci slot,
1 x eSATA 6Gb/s port(s), red
1 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), navy blue
and no tpu

Should be whats different between the boards. But if u don't want the smaller motherboard then don't go with the m-pro.

Oh and the v-le has a nicer heatsink.

When i was looking for mb i was also looking at the asrock but decided not to cause a few ppl have had problems with rma with them, or that was what i was told. Not sure if its true or not cause have never owned one. anyways i think u'll be happy with whatever motherboard you choose

Majority gaming, but maybe a little video editing for youtube.
as i said if your on a budget get the e3 version as the e4 only has some extra small stuff. the e3 will still do wonders. good luck on your build!

Ok guess I will get it to 4.5ghz then! Cheers for the help. If I am lucky maybe I will get the 'special' 2500k to get 5ghz?

Well I prefer the look of the E3 but for $50 is the features on the E4 worth it? Anything that really separates them? Cheers anyway. :L

4.6-4.8GHz is a very realistic expectation for 24/7 use.

Only the new Gen 3 boards. Here's the P8Z68-V Pro Gen 3 on newegg - I think they just came out within the last week or two. Essentially identical to the regular Z68 Pro, but with a few slight modifications to make it PCI-E 3.0 compatible. As far as I can see on their website, PCI-E 3.0 is only with the Z68 chipset, not the P67. Just one more thing to differentiate the two, I guess.

Thanks for the information man! What vcore would I expect to get the 2500k to 4.8ghz stable?

I am going to order everything in an hour or so. Making the final decision on which ASRock motherboard to choose. :L I am thinking if I get the cheaper board I might also buy a new DVD Drive, also maybe a fan or two (red LED to go with my colour scheme).

So currently I have this as what I am buying:
Intel 2500k - $220
G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600MHZ - $66
ASROCK Extreme 3/4

So. If I get the Extreme 3 I save $50 which I can use to buy a DVD drive and maybe a LED fan to fit on the bottom of my case.

Like i said before, any major features on the Extreme 4 that I should know? Still cant decide tbh :X

I'm not familiar enough with the ASRock boards to tell you the differences. It's probably something along the lines of a few more USB3.0 ports and some extra power phases on the Extreme 4. The best thing you can do is go to ASRock's website, do a very detailed comparison between the specs on the two boards, and decide for yourself if its worth the $50. One thing I would look for is if the Extreme 3 has jumpers instead of buttons - I hate jumpers!

This isn't a performance comparison - I can tell you for sure the Extreme 3 will OC just as well as the 4. It's simply a comparison of usability features. Which ports you need, how many, inclusion of a usb 3.0 front panel box, or any other miscellaneous features you want.

I'm running my 2600K with HT disabled at 4.8GHz and 1.40v load voltage.

Thank you. I think I am just going to get the cheaper version after looking on the internet. It comes with 2 less SATA 3, 2 less USB 3.0, you don't get a USB 3.0 front panel for free. Other then that, it seems the same, and looks much better. I just wanted to make the right decision since I will have it for a few years (hopefully).

And I am right to assume I should get the G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600MHZ XL version over the RL version right? Since XL Ripjaws are Sandybridge and the RL are the older version right? I am pretty sure its the XL version I want..

Samsung 22X DVDRW (are LITEON DVD drive any good ($30)?) for $20 seems decent to me. So think I will get that as-well. Now going to get a Red LED fan. I want 2 red LED fans, 12cm (I already got 1). Just want a nice bright red fan.

Xigmatek 120mm Red Fan -$7 (transparent)
CoolerMaster 120mm Rifle Red Led Fan - $12 (black)
Thermaltake Thunderblade Red LED 120mm Fan - $12 (transparent)

I KNOW. I SHOULDNT ASK THIS ITS JUST FANS. :l I just want the brightness of Red to be seen in my case . (Also is NZXT Sleeve Red Led light 100CM nice? I would love to have my PC lit up in RED (only $20 as-well ))

Btw I know this is a random question, but is there anyway to reduce the amount of dust in my HAF 922 case (it doesnt really have much mesh crap).

THANKS TO EVVERRYYONE FOR THERE HELP! REP!
