I always have afterburner on (only way to mod voltages on my card) I crash a few times, but I'm pretty sure it's not afterburner's fault because I crash with or without it... it's a buggy game, although with the entire comp shut down it sounds more of a hardware issue really

Yea that whole pc shut down may have been temps at the time, although comp didnt shut down monitor just went blank and no more sound but fans were still spinning @ that time my fan was set @ low speeds, now that i got everything to par i got that freezing issue Untitled.png 197k .png file

Not sure if anyone has found a solution to this yet. but i am having similar problems. i have done TONS AND TONS of stability testing, and testing in other games etc etc. I have done 50 passes of intel burn test. 10 hours prime 95, 1 hour furmark, multiple 3d mark vantage benchmarks. All stability tests have come back clean. I have played skyrim, dota 2, starcraft 2, witcher 2, bf3 singleplayer, crysis warhead, and bad company 2 for hours all with 0 problems. I can even do 24/7 folding and not crash. But i still crash in BF3 multiplayer. I dont get looping sound, but my computer just freezes. picture freezes and everything is unresponsive. and i have to hard reset. happens after 5-10 min of playing. I have tried installing fresh windows on a seperate hard drive, messing with SLI (turning it on and off), dusting and cleaning, tightening connections, messing with audio. Nothing fixes this. I havent played any games at all in a week cuz all i have been doing istrying to fix this. The most bizarre thing is everything was fine before skyrim came out. I played flawlessly for 3 weeks before skyrim. When skyrim came out i took a break from BF3. When i came back, BF3 was broken

the following is the XML of the two errors i am getting.

RE: Bf3 and pc shut off.

Alot of others have the problem. You say it started after Skyrim....did you by any chance not realise you downloaded a patch for BF3? People are saying they were playing fine before but after the patch, they had issues...some as bad as yours while others not so. I get the BF3 has stopped working error msg, but I haven't had time to get the patch and try it out yet so I don't know if its been fixed for me or like many others, not. I would just wait until the next patch/update if I were you....i know its annoying as hell but you're not the only one having an issue of sort.

hey thanks for the reply. I think it actually may have something to do with my new headphones. I got new Ultrasone 550 Pro headphones right around when i started playing skyrim. Before that i was using a USB headset (logitech g35). I have read a lot of stuff about Realtek HD Audio Manager causing problems with bf3. So i figured i would switch back to my logitech headset so that i wouldnt even have to worry about Realtek. And i have played for 45 minutes with no crash. So i think it is Realtek related. Still trying to work a fix so that i can use my Ultrasones though. If anyone is still having problems out there, i would recommend that you try a USB headset. Maybe go to target or something and just purchase a cheap one to do some testing with. See if that helps. I will post back here once i find a Realtek workaround.

Well as far as i can tell, there is no way to fix this other than to play without sound(disable/uninstall Realtek HD Audio) or use a USB headset. Luckily i still have my g35. I guess i will just have to use that when i play BF3. Hopefully we get a patch soon. cuz this is the only game/situation i get this problem in.
Basically if you have run stablilty tests/played multiple other games, and you dont have any problems with those, then it is almost certainly Realtek
