Wondering what the best stress test is?

Thread Starter
Hey everybody I was just wondering what the best thing would be to test out my graphics card and see how it runs under full load and all. No priority, I'm not having a problem or anything. I'm just curious what temp it will get up too and if that's good/bad/ok, etc. Thanks

Gpu tool, or ATI tool are the two most common ones recommended on this site.

Furmark puts an unrealistic heat load which you will never ever reach in games. I usually use 3DMark AND Heaven to see whats the highest heat load, You can use Furmark to get the highest temp you will ever reach just to be safe.

The best stress tests that give tell me how stable my OC is, are inevitably games. Not benchmark tools. For e.g. when I OCed my card to 880/1375 on stock volts, it ran Kombustor/OCCT fine, but when I started playing Crysis 2, my display driver would stop working and recover to desktop. So I had to up my volts from 1100 to 1150 and it ran stable.

I would recommend an hour of gaming session of Witcher 2, Crysis 2, Crysis Warhead and Metro 2033, all maxed out as much as possible. That will tell you how hot your card gets and whether its stable. More reliable than Unigine and 3d Mark..
