How much should I pay for all this?

Thread Starter
I like to scout out Craigslist for computer deals, and a guy has listed a water cooling system for sale. I asked him for the parts list and this is what he sent back:
2x 240 rads, 1x 360 rad, koolance pump, 2x GeForce 8800 water blocks, d-tek CPU block, swift tech CPU block, water temp sensor, water flow sensor, a few barbs for the radiators, and 2 reservoirs.

I don't need the 8800 water blocks, and unless the cpu block is a universal one, I'll probably need to get a new one for my 1100T. I can also assume that I'm going to end up needing to buy extra tubing/barbs. That being said, he's got this listed at $200, and I'm just wondering if it is worth that or if I should send him a lower offer. This would be my first WC, so advice is appreciated.

depending on what rads and such say on the low end you got 50$ to 60$ on the 360 30$ to 40$ on the 2 240 thats 110$ right there if the koolance pump is a lang theres another 45$ to 50$ depending on res you could probly get 15$ out of each one i would think and the block possibly 25$ to 30$? i mean it seems reasonable id find out what rads and pump they are for sure and how long the pump was used and what the coolant was etc

If he can provide substantial information on the parts, it would be of great benefit to you. Does he have pictures of any of it? It would be easy to decipher what parts are there from a simple picture or two.

The koolance pump is probably a pmp-400 or pmp-450 (ddc or D5), since pmp-300's aren't popular, meaning you'd be getting a great pump. The swiftech waterblock will work with your 1100T since it'll more than likely be an Apogee GT, GTX, GTZ, or XT which all come with AM2/AM3 hardware, just ask if he has the hardware or else you'll be having to buy some. Tubing isn't expensive, so I wouldn't be worried about that, nor are barbs/clamps.

$200 definitely is a good deal for all of that, but you need to get information/models on the parts. If the pump is old it isn't worth much, if anything other than distilled water was run in the loop, it won't be worth much unless you feel like cleaning potential gunk out of everything, which you might have to do anyway. If you can find anything out on the parts, post back here with the information. If worse comes to worse, you can sell the excess (Dtek block, 2x 8800 blocks, extra res) for ~$100 and make some of the money back that you spent while having a fully functioning waterloop.

I asked him if he had any more info on the parts and this is what he said. "I used them once or twice but during my setup it leaked because a bar was not tight enough and I called it quits and went back to air cooling. Sorry I don't have any more info for you. I do remember how much I spent on the gear and is was $500-700."

I'm going to take a look at the setup tomorrow. I was able to talk him down to $150, and it seems like that is a pretty good deal even though I don't know exactly what model number each of the parts are at the moment, right?

Ya I'd just be weary of the rads because if they are old Koolance Aluminum ones, I'd stay far away. Also it would depend on the model pump.

I just went and picked up the stuff, and here is what I can identify:
Swiftech GTZ cpu block
Koolance COV-PMP405A pump
TFC X-Changer Triple Radiator 360
1.5 bottles of Feser One fluid
XSPC temperature sensor
Koolance INS-FM17N Coolant Flow Meter
Bitspower Crystal T-Block - 180 Degree Water Cooling Accessory
A couple feet of used blue Feser tubing

Parts I can't identify:
D-Tek cpu block
2 blue 240mm radiators
2 waterblocks (for 8800gt)
Reservoir

I got it all for $150, how did I do? And can anyone help me identify these other parts?
