^^^ What with the.... $30 for 2x2GB generic DDR3-1333 RAM when DDR3-1600 costs $5 less?
And yeah at this point I would buy an HDD Used. A good PSU and case would be overkill for this setup; that kind of money would be better spent on a bigger monitor or siphoned towards a hard drive.

the 1600 ram would only run at 1333 unless you overclock since the board does not support it otherwise, but I guess if he wants to he can get the 1600 ram.

More headroom for less money that sounds OK to me? He could tighten up the timings on the 1600 set, and run it at 1333.

those pair of RAM should do great with atleast low timmings like 7-7-7-20 another thing go for a Athlon II X3 450 or a 440 cheap chips with a lot on overclocking head room i heard people touch 4Ghz+ on air. with a decent motherboard
