BF3 Crashes every 25 minutes

Thread Starter
Pretty much every 25-30 minutes BF3 crashes. It just says "BF3 has stopped working". Specs are down below. Ive tried every single driver nvidia has released since the start of BETA, and Ive had this problem since day 1 of BETA. My card isnt getting hot either, stays around 50 C.

Is your CPU OC'ed at all? if it is, try dropping it down to stock to rule it out as a possible problem.

I agree. I had the same issue with it crashing on my every game until I set my CPU back to stock. Now I can play for hours. Back to the drawing board on a new OC

Possibly running out of RAM. 4GB is really cutting it close. What a few of my clan mates need to do is make sure if they do is reduce all system stress. Close all extra programs, no extra browser windows, folders, ect, ect. Just clean up as much Memory as possible.

Should consider going to W7 64 bit and increase your memory to 8-16 GB instead. You've invested a fair amount into that rig. Go the small next step and get off 32 bit operating system.

yessss. I hope its not the problem, Ive spent hours in the last month learning how to properly OC, but may as well try it out.

Might be something to do with the gtx 500 series, I'm seeing alot of people complaining about crashes that are using them, including my neighbor.

Additionally, It could be the 4gb of ram. It tends to chew through 4gb pretty quickly, I have to cut everything from running on my system except origin, the browser, vent and the game

I had issues with BF3 crashing just like BFBC2 used to. Shutting down MSI Afterburner while playing seems to have resolved it.

After spending 3 hours installing BF3 (from dvd, screw origin, i shouldn't have to update a game to play it from a dvd on launch day), I had no problem playing it on my single GTX 550 ti, though it was maxing out my gpu and pushing temps above 70c. I'm going to grab another 550 tonight to toss in there to make it even better, but I had no crashing issues. I'm also running 8gb of ram, and a bulldozer at 4.8ghz, but I saw very little heavy cpu usage.

This isn't to say that the perfect combination of a gpu that is significantly more powerful than the cpu couldn't cause some bottlenecking that might lead to crashing. I'd be looking more at the 4gb of ram and 32bit os though. There was also a new Nvidia driver released in the last couple days, but I'm assuming you have that, as the game wouldn't let me play without it.

Reducing graphics from Ultra to High resolved crashing for me.

Only happened to me with an unstable OC, took a few hours of testing for stability, and now all is fine for me.
