Best sounding headphones for gaming <$50?

Thread Starter
Well, now that BF3 is out, it's time to ramp up my playing with some nice headphones. I will admit that I own some Bose Triports, and I absolutely love them (no flaming, please), but my girlfriend uses them every night to watch Netflix, so I can only use either speakers or crappy earbuds.

I would like to get a nice replacement for less than $50. Preferably with no microphone so I can use them other places as well. So what would be best for games (primarily 1st person shooters)? I am not brand loyal, so anything goes.

I would go with theses. They are semi open, and over at headfi some members rave they are the AD700's with bass.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. Do you know if these are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time? I'm really eyeing those Superlux ones

Super lux should be great for long wear. But i hear they got hot after a while so a cloth ear pad might be better.

There are other headphones with earpads that fit but i dont remeber which one does.

Hey, those Samson's look pretty good Thanks for the suggestion!

Any input on the Seinheiser HD 280's for gaming? They are going to $55 used in the for sale section on OCN If the 280's are not good for gaming, I'll pick up a pair of those Samsons.

Those Superlux look so cool. Might consider them for travel if they're light.

The only thing is if your taking them outside and their open back, then every one will hear while your listening to unless you turn the volume down. Unless you like having people standing around you using you as a radio.

I have seem those Superlux 668B on ebay around 50 the last time I checked, I think the samson SR850 was another good one for 50 as well that is on amazon. It was 50 when I last checked.
