Where should I place compression fittings?

Yo OCN!

I was thinking about redoing my loop and was wondering if I could get some advice. Thinking about going with compression fittings this time. I'll include a picture of my loop as it is now for reference. Basically just looking for advice of where to place 45/90 degree fittings and where to use straight compression fittings.

Also will most likely be using these fittings:
45 degree
90 degree
Straight

You really don't want to add in angled fittings if you can help it. They really hamper flow-rates and can cause worse temps. As for the regular straight fittings you could put them anywhere. Places where you are likely to do frequent disconnects are good starts.

Good to know about the angled fittings. I just wasn't sure if there were certain spots that would benefit from them. The tubing from the RX120 rad to the GPU is pretty tight. Was also wondering if I should switch the tubing from the bottom of the GPU to the top?

To go up 1 deg. in temp you would have to use 30 90s in one loop lol

To my original question, where could I get away with using straight compressions, and where would I benefit in using angled compressions?

2 angle on 120 rad, one on cpu, one on lower side of vga card, The rest straight comp.
Dont know if 45 or 90 would be better in those places pictures dont tell the angle very well
And I cant see behind your pump/res so dont know about there?

I'll take a better picture tomorrow. The pump/res is the XSPC dual bay one, so I'll be using compressions there. For now, I'm off to sleep. Thanks for your help man.

Los Hog said it all but I wanted to add that I've tested my system with straight fittings on all parts, then subbed in three 90s and a 45 with absolutely ZERO difference in water/component temps, at least to within measurable standards. I'm not quite sure why the myth still floats around that it's bad to use them. It doesn't really pass the common sense test since all your blocks angle 90 degrees into and out of them already, so if that hurts flow then the damage is already done. Based on your photo I'd say definitely put a 90 under your GPU, and maybe one on the CPU.

Because its a proven fact that it does hamper flow at least a little. I wish I could say that I've had your experiences. Although I imagine adding 90s and angles to lower restriction loops has much less of an effect than adding them to an already high restriction loop.

I don't see anything that restricts flow as a good thing, no matter how small. Makes me question what effect this would have on the lifespan of the pump.

Sometimes, though, it's unavoidable.
