My loop/components aren't at all high restriction, and neither were other systems I've worked on in combination with others that have tested both ways. Yes, it's a proven fact that angles hamper flow a little bit, just like it's a proven fact that if you drink too much water you can literally drown yourself, does that mean you should avoid drinking water at all? Test after test by anyone who takes the time to do it empirically and scientifically finds no noticable differences in temps using angled vs straight fittings. I would be interested to see anyone link to a legit test that shows otherwise. Again, and I can't stress this enough: water blocks and rads angle their entries, but you don't see people crying about how that's hampering their flow. Has anyone here ever put together a loop that had more than thirty angled fittings?

I'm not trying to get in your face about this, but I see people posting all the time telling others not to use angled fittings with nothing other than their say so. I've never seen anyone show numbers to support this claim. There are good reasons to angle aside from aesthetics, it's a shame to dissuade people without good cause.

Some advice from what I can see:

-Rotate CPU block so the inlet is on the right side (toward the rad and from of the case)
-Put 45 degree fittings on the cpu to make less bend in the tubing to/from the rads.
-Add a 45 degree fitting on the gpu block that is next to the rear rad. Tubing seems to have a nice curve at that spot
-Instead of having the tubing connected at the bottom of the gpu, put fitting on the top side (same as the other) and then you can shorten the tubing.

I like to put compression fittings where I would be taking the tubing off the most: cpu, gpu. And then put them where they'll be seen (because they look great)

Here is a good link. From those tests it shows that one elbow at 3GPM flow causes about 1 PSI of pressure drop. To put that in perspective that's roughly half the drop incurred by adding a MCR320 to your loop. Although the difference my be negligible in turns of final temperatures it will decrease your flow.

I'm just curious, is your goal with your loop to have a freeflowing current of water in your computer case, or is it to bring your temps down. The link you posted said exactly what I did, that it has negligible difference on temps. All the tests say the same thing. It's splitting hairs when you look at temp differences. Flow restriction is always going to be greatest at the block. Show us a test that makes a difference for real world performance. Anyway, I don't mean to sound so argumentative, and you're certainly not an idiot so I'm not trying to belittle you.

OP, let me rephrase my first response. In my experience adding angled fittings to a loop makes no difference to temps. Others may have different experiences. Do some research and make your own decision.

I completely agree that the real world difference will be negligible. It only becomes a problem if you have an already low flow rate. To a point flow rates cause negligible decreases in temps, but there is a threshold where laminar flow starts to occur in the rads and temps start increasing faster. OP, your loop isn't anything super restrictive so you should be fine adding elbows if you like. Its not my methodology, but then again it isn't my system either.

That is why I went for the 45s instead of using any 90s. I have 4 45s in my loop, inlet/outlet of the CPU block and inlet/outlet of the GPU block. Works great and seem to have great temps on my 360 rad.

thanks for the advice. if i flip the cpu block won't it be on backwards? or does it not matter? i put it on how it is now because the xspc logo and the text "in and out" were right side up.
