Hey, I need suggestions for my $1500 budget upgrades Im going to be making to my current build within the next month or so to be able to run BF3 at a decent framerate. Here is what I'm thinking of getting . Feel free to make a suggestion so long as it doesn't go passed $1600.
Also, I'm going to overclock those Westmeres. I'm going to leave 6 of the memory slots unused incase I want to upgrade with another 12GB in the future.. I've saved up $1600 and I want to use it for BF3.

xeon aint made for gaming so if I were you I would just get a 2500K, 8GB RAM and a GTX 580.

so a single 2500k would outdo two Westmeres at 3Ghz?

well I doubt any game will benefit from 2 CPUs as they are not made to be,
Just like games used to be coded for dual cores and before that single cores.

xeon are server chips so they are optimised for server side tasks.

Best but it is built on the same architecture as the i7's, I may be wrong but multicore optimized games would essentially view the second cpu as more "cores".
