GTX 580 - MSI Lightning or Gigabyte SOC

Can't decide which one of them I should get for BF3! They are about the same price in EU and I have only read good things about them so far.

Edit: I will be upgrading my SyncMaster in 1-2 weeks for a higher resolution screen ( 27" @ 1080p atleast)

I would say this one. No need for 3gb ram unless you plan on running 3 monitors.

Both MSI N580GTX Lightning and Gigabyte GeForce GTX 580 Super Overclock have 1,5GB VRAM.
So I wasn't considering to buy a 3GB GPU anyways. ^^

People have more success from the MSI overclocking/performance wise, or so I have heard.

You really don't need 3gb unless you're doing triple monitor or higher than 1080p resolution. That said, either card is a fine choice but per the GTX 580 overclocking club thread, it seems that the lightning is the most consistent overclocker based on others' experiences - although that could be because more people own it compared to gigabyte.

Basically buy whatever you can find a better bargain on, they're both great. Also take into account support/warranty. Personally I love my lightning, it hits 950 easily
