I don't feel it is as huge of a leap graphically as everyone is making it out to be.

This, this, this.

Couldn't agree more. Granted I've only played 17minutes because my gfx card is down for the moment...

I feel I lose a ton of performance on the sky cinematic background in the game. Especially the one map with all the shooting in the city and smoke and explosions...

Butttttt despite that. It's fun, I liked it. I like it more than bc2. I just want to find my small maps. I haven't played it enough yet to find that. We'll see how it fairs in the next few weeks. Haven't had any problems with the new drivers btw. Says I get a 11% performance gain...wow

I think the graphics are awesome in this game. It is different from Crysis 2 that has a lot of shiny wet surfaces. This has more of a dry smokey effects more than anything. To me it seems that crysis 2 is darker richer colors and BF3 has like a brownish tint to it.

No offense, but that is not a very effective, accurate, or useful way of determining performance for various types of hardware (and especially at various types of settings). It would just be a guess (and an increasingly wild one at that, the further down you go). Subsequently, these results mean little to nothing for the majority of gamers in regards to the "will it play on my hardware" question. I'm seriously not trying to be a jerk here, I'm just saying to most inquiring gamers, the report is not really informative or helpful. (I'm not saying their results weren't interesting to see, however, from a technical standpoint.)

I agree. I think graphically, it rivals Crysis and Metro 2033. I don't think it beats them. In fact I think some of the effects are just over done in BF3, like the bloom. Regular street lights have so much bloom it's blinding, and just looking in the direction of the sun is really annoying. Also the colours look really washed out :s.

Still looks good, don't get me wrong. I love the game too... but I don't think it looks as good as people seem to be saying.

glad i went with 6970's only average 2fps behind 580sli and thats with out proper optimized drivers. it is nice to keep vsync on. And btw, for the record i didn't experience any stuttering.

Nice to see a single 6970 performing almost on par with a 580, considering the price difference of the two you would be hard pressed to go with the 580. Guess I know my next upgrade path.

For a multiplayer with maps so big that support 64 players in one server I think the graphics are very nice but I'm even more impressed with how well it runs on a single GTX 580 on ultra. I run it at 1920x1200, all max Ultra settings, 2xAA, 16xAF, SSAO and I mostly get over 50fps anywhere. I didn't think it would run this smooth on Ultra on a single GTX 580. I can record with FRAPS at 50fps without any problems.
