I'll take better lighting over the overuse of bloom in Frostbite 1/1.5. The game looks incredible. Sure, it isn't a giant leap, but for a game that runs well and has great multiplayer I would say it is on par or just below Crysis2.

Well you can see how the best graphic cards handle the game...

so a 6950 is about 8% slower than a 6970 you just minus aroud 8% from the 6970 scores...etc
No offense, but that is not a very effective, accurate, or useful way of determining performance for various types of hardware (and especially at various types of settings). It would just be a guess (and an increasingly wild one at that, the further down you go). Subsequently, these results mean little to nothing for the majority of gamers in regards to the "will it play on my hardware" question. I'm seriously not trying to be a jerk here, I'm just saying to most inquiring gamers, the report is not really informative or helpful. (I'm not saying their results weren't interesting to see, however, from a technical standpoint.)

Its not as accurate compared to if you actually had a test using say a 5850.

But if you wanted to , you could take like 10 games , and see the average difference between a single 5850 and a single 6970 and apply the same difference. Ontop of that you could do a "best worst mostlikely case scenario" and get fps for all 3.

Obviosly it wouldent be 100% accurate but we do have sufficient information to draw on (past reviews of a 5850 and a 6970) to make a reasonable and accurate guess!

The problem is that they're checking out the performance with high-end cards at a large resolution. So then you need to make the difference of going from their resolution to your resolution, the drop in performance with your card compared to the card they used, and someone like me who has to figure what kind of performance loss my triple core gets over a new quadcore or higher.

no doubt its hard to "figure out"

but it is possible , now that we can see how the top end cards handle the game , to get a good estimate on how everything else will handle the game...

your right though , they need to test all cards at lower resolutions

I don't feel it is as huge of a leap graphically as everyone is making it out to be.

QFT. The general environment is very well done. However, the character (facial) models in my opinion do not live to the hype/promo videos. imho, Crysis 2 had better character facial models (granted, we see very few faces in Crysis 2 lol).
Clothing, gun, tank and building textures are very very well done (textures can look pretty bad on buildings is you stand really close but who cares in the middle of a fight? tongue.gif ).

Overall, the game is very good looking (so don't anyone dare say i'm whining). Maybe they'll release a texture pack to make things even more epic? hehe.

yeah... maybe I watched all the preview videos a lot, but it didn't seem to give me the same gameplay (single player) experience like the videos showed...

To me, the game is not 'smooth' as players are walking into me making me skip around. Even while I am getting 80 FPS minimums, it just doesn't seem 'smooth'...

You could however, take a screenshot and it will look good though, as the lighting and buildings are excellent...

I share this sentiment.

Graphics are underwhelming considering the video footage we've been fed prior release. Must've been all those Sony Vegas effects wink.gif

Maybe i made a mistake ordering 1920x1080 since i have a GTX 460. I might oughta have to suck it up and return it back cuz i'm terrified i won't be able to play BF3 with better framerates compared to my current monitor i'm running and game runs good. Kinda hard to do Ultra and i wish i can.
