Need advice, buying : CPU, MB, GPU

Thread Starter
I've some restriction.
MB : Maximus IV extreme
CPU : 2500k
Gpu : NEED CROSSFIRE OR SLI (3 screens)

Wanna run Bf3.

To put in a water-cooling built, so good board for overclocking.
Last thing, if it's possible, RED color or WHITE on the board .

Thanks for help.

intel 2500k or amd 1090/1100t, Im a fan of the asus rog boards and msi video cards too. My 560ti does good on bf3 ultra settings with msaa at 2x @ 1920x1080, for some reason my sli setup isnt performing correctly right now. Hear its an ea patch not nvidia drivers though.

I'd avoid the ROG mobos if I were you. Having one, I am not impressed and people are getting better overclocks on far less expensive boards.

BF3 has issues with HT. DICE recommends either you disable HT in BIOS or wait for the next patch. Go with the 2500k instead, get the same performance in game, and save a dollar for something else.

I would go with maybe a 6850 or something lower end and wait for either the 600 series or 7000 series. Crossfire right now seems like a waste of money.

Are you shooting for 2 GPU's only, or more than 2?

If you're only planning on using 2 GPU's, you can get by with a much cheaper motherboard.

Oh I missed up.
Good idea but I think I wanna go with nVidia.
Is it comparable with a 560.
And last question, Am I dreaming if I want to buy gpu used?

In my dream will be 3 but, now I haven't the money for.
I don't wanna chance my board in 1 years so I think it will be good to buy a good one. And also, overclocking is very important to me.

No, he's right. The Maximus IV Extreme is virtually useless unless you want 4 cards and to OC to 7.0Ghz.

I say, get rid of the red-and-black colors and get a P67A-UD4. Best value.

The GTX 560 Ti is comparable to the HD 6950, yeah. Either way is fine.

Just make sure you buy used, on eBay. Much lower price.

GTX 560's won't do 3 way either, so you could do just fine with an ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 as well for 1/4 the price of the board you're looking at. The ASRock will handle 2 cards just fine, Ivy Bridge, PCIe 3.0, and overclocking as high as your chip will go stable.
