The 960T, like my old 840T, has the potential to unlock two additional cores. The 965 does not.

Get the 960T!

I just received my 960T from newegg for $114 using the promo newcustomer10 have no clue why the code worked but it did.

I just got the parts put into it last night. Booted it up enabled the extra cores and is running 6 cores. I booted it into windows and checked task manager but have not done any stability testing/overclocking as of yet.

If you can get the other chip for -$50 bucks and are happy with a quad core. I wouldn't spend $50 bucks more for the 960T but at similar price I would buy the 960T(just be prepared to get a quad but a good chip)

I don't have a 960T,but the 95W 960T should idle around the same temps as other 95W Phenom II X4's High 20's to low 30's C,but depends on the cooling used.

Hmm...im asking because i had my new pc set up the other day but was having hard drive trouble so i switched my HDD back but the temp was reading 36C in Bios I was using a CM Hyper 212+ with 2 fans in a push/pull config and the thermal paste that came with it.....is there like a break in period for the thermal paste or something? I put a pea sized amount in the center of the heatsink and spread it out with a notecard since the heatsink had grooves in it.

how used is the 955be? if it's been overclocked and gamed on for two years, i'd recommend you get the 960t being that it'll be new.

on newegg, the 960t is $10-off, totalling at $115 with free shipping. also notice the promo line says "while supplies last." i can't guarantee that's not just advertising, but the other weekend specials today don't say "while supplies last." they could run out very soon.

i haven't used a 960t but i do have the 965be and have had it clocked to 4.1 stable on the stock cooler and sync. they say that it has problems with any ram over 1333 but i have been running mine at 1600 np. my brothers is getting the 960t so i will do some comparisons and post when complete. but if you cant clock the 960t over 3.7 with six cores the 965 be would be my choice if you can get it $50 cheaper.
