I don't mind if this is true at all. Waiting another month for this amazing tablet will defiantly be worth it if google is helping them out with ICS!

asus unveiled their prime tablet about an hour ago.

the 32 gb is $499 while the 64 gb is $599
the dock is $149

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57320939-1/asus-transformer-prime-is-dressed-to-impress/

not sure when its going to hit retail shelves. From what i read, its going to launch with honeycomb and ics will be rolled out in december. But some sources say differently.

"ASUS claims that the Prime will in fact ship with Android 3.2 in its initial release with an over-the-air updated to 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) as soon as it has been "optimized, tested and approved". They weren't willing to put a date or time frame on that release but they are planning on using the 4.0 OS revision at the launch event coming in December; that seems to indicate to us we may have it in time for CES in January 2012. I can't believe the price gouging on these things, shocking the least to say wha-smiley.png

I'd love a tablet but not at these prices, they're welcome to their 4000% margins while it lasts.

I think it's a fair price for new technology. But then again, I don't know the cost of producing each unit. I do know that I've been waiting to get a tablet and this definitely looks like it might be it.

Anandtech did a breakdown of the original iPad once and the production price came to 150-200 USD I think, I really can't remember, and yet Apple were charging up to 600 USD for one of these. Gucci, Armani, Nike and Adidas, etc. also don't cost the amount we pay for their products (I detest those brands and refuse to buy any of them), it's all massive margins.
