[Wired]10-year-old Windows XP Ad Predicted the Future of Computing

A balding man in a yellow polo shirt is running over a peaceful green hillside. Straining, he jumps. Then he jumps again. Suddenly he’s flying, and we hear the first few notes of Madonna’s 2001 hit, “Ray of Light.â€

No, it’s not an ad for Levitra. It’s an ad for Windows XP. Watching it 10 years later — on the anniversary of the day Microsoft released the OS — it’s more than an ad. It’s an oracle. In fact, it’s amazing how precisely Microsoft predicted the future of computing in its cheesy Windows XP promotional materials.

Planned or not? You tell me . I never actually realized any of this till I actually thought about it and read the article.

I wouldn't call it a Oracle or anything silly like that People like Bill Gates have the ability to see a product and jump years ahead of what it COULD be. I don't recall the name of the person (maybe it was Da Vinci) but he had plans for helicopters and tanks 200+ years before the technology was even there to start attempts.

Some people just look at the world in the future rather than the present. Those are the people who revolutionize our world. This is just another example
