He used to run SETI@Home for a while and had heard about F@H. I've been helping him find upgrade parts for his rig at home. I just gave him the link to where I ordered my $10 waterblock for the 9800GX2 that I found

OK I have to say... the fact that you are using that many machines is awesome. And the fact that your boss is allowing you to do so, then that is even more awesome.

However, I know that F@H would like to implement "clustering" computers and such so that they could all run one core, over numerous CPU's... which would be awesome if you could link them all together to do that.

Either way, kudos to you AND your boss wink.gif

I want to hear more about this $10.00 GX2 waterblock. Was it $10.00 and a free ride to work for a year? GX2 waterblocks from DangerDen go for over 200.00.

I would love to cluster them. I have a ~62GHz single core across all the machines I have running in parallel (24 threads on 7 machines) but they put out less than 20k PPD due to older CPUs (Pentium Dual Cores) and low single-machine core counts (most are 2 or 4 threads, all are 3GHz or less). I would love to cluster the 4 i7 laptops that are running into a 2.8GHz 16-core beast, but I don't see that happening any time soon frown.gif

I haven't heard word-one about it. Like I said, they don't care.

I'll sell you mine for $200 if you're interested, but if you want them for $10, go: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_971_240_579&products_id=23628

Added in another laptop (i7-640m and Quadro 880m) and brought the server online for folding now that it has a six-disk RAID6 running - HOORAY REDUNDANCY!!!

here's the SS of HFM, It feels rediculous to even bother folding on some of these computers...
My single 970 or 2600k outperform all of these combined, but at least I'm not paying the electric bill devil.gif

Does the block look like the DangerDen block? I have made many low-ball offers on the DangerDen block and no one wants to talk if my price is not at least 195.00. I have a complaint about Performance PC's website. If you make the slightest error while you are walking down the drop-down menus, the site sends you right back to the beginning. It gets to be I would rather buy somewhere else than navigate their site.

PPC's does have the block I want and they are asking 199.00. Your link takes me to the very beginning of everything PPC's offers. Just so I don't have to look at every manufacture, who is the maker of this 10.00 block.
