Though I have never heard of a mouse melting from normal use obviously if you were to put it in an oven it would melt but not from proper use. Accept for this one time that I got very angry at an online home work assignment an threw the mouse at my bed but it hit the steal bed frame and shattered the left click button.
I know how it feels when you are very angry in front of computer. I was once very angry and pick up my logitech mouse and hit it hard on the mousepad, but then seem like nothing happened and it still works fine, may be because the mousepad is very soft and thick while I hit it just like how the mouse normally get pressure from upside down...

well the speed can be different, seem like the razer mice would wear out faster than logitech in general...

The gripping area of my G500 look little bit more shiny
post #15 of 56
The rubbery grip on my 3.0 around the thumb area has disappeared. My finger have faded away the paint of the mouse buttons and some parts of the palm area. Other than that it's still working for past 4 years.

microsoft wireless laser mouse 4000, manufactured 2007, bought 2008, only wear in it is the painted plastic where right side of my palm rests on it and left click button. (wore paint down from stock grey to the original plastic color before painting process)

Is that the kind with some colorful pattern or picture on it? Anyway it is surprise that even a pretty new model like this would have some color totally disappear.

The razer copperhead I used for 5 years never worn out in my opinion but the side rubber became yellow (no idea why), its a little bit scratched and the glides are much thinner.
Don't know how does some people corrode the rubber of plastic coating of stuff...
