My pc is DEAD! Please help! - Page 2

lol, wasn't watching porn. Opened up minesweeper actually haha.
Right, went to sainsbury and am fed.
K, well, that startup recovery thing finally finished and was completely useless.
But, i restarted and went back into cmos and yes, the raid setting needed reconfiguring.
Anyways, long and the short of it, the pc works.
However, i still don't know what was the cause of this was. I've still got a tick of ram out.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how i can find what caused my machine to go bsod? There's not been any new or recently changed hardware or software.
I'm thinking the mobo has probably died somewhere. But i'm not sure, suggestions?

You can always check the windows event log, see if that can help you unearth anything. Right click My Computer, press Manage and you will be able to find the logs from there.

had a look in there a little earlier. there was one critical error. i asked a mate about it, they said that in normal circumstances it would lead to one believing that there was a power issue. However, i don't feel that it's likely, and neither does my mate. I'll have to look at the log again because i forgot what it says.

It could be just a minor hiccup, dont worry about it too much yet.
What you should do for now is make sure you have a backup.
Maybe your mobo is on its way out. Just observe your system for now.
Again backup, especially you have a raid 0 array, its next to impossible to migrate that to a mew board unless you get the same exact one.

the error was, holy you know what, the log for it has gone...
Well, i can't remember what the log was, for whatever reason, it's no longer there...
sorry about that.

well, honestly, i'm pretty worried about this, I got blue screened twice yesterday. I have no idea why. And today, the 3rd time i got blue screened really screwed my machine up. And it's still pretty odd to be honest. I don't know what's caused this, and the problem seems to be getting worse and worse after every blue screen. I think I shall be copying many files tonight and 2mo.

I have replaced that stick of ram, and all seems to be functioning. I will run a memtest when i can. I am not happy.

Can you burn a memtest cd and run it on both sticks individually?

And can you tell us the bsod code? It should look like 0x000000000101, for example..
Giving us that code can help us track the culprit down.

I will run a burn test when i can, and will do it on each stick individually. The only thing is I have an enormous amount of uni work to do for 2mo, and since it's getting close to 2am, and i've not done it, the mem test will have to wait for a while. I need my pc to do the work.

As for the bsod code, i have no idea what it was, the pc restarted very quickly. Is there a way of finding out what the code was? eg some log somewhere?
