Can my EVGA 9600GT 512mb run BF3 well?

So, basically, my system crapped out on my 2 DAYS before BF3 launched, I was pissed, I was all ready to play it opening night, but no, so I've ordered the parts, but they arent coming for another 5-7 days, and luckily I kept my old sytem, after I built my new one, the basic specs are:

1. Pentium 4 3.2GHz(single core)
2. Geforce 9600GT 512MB
3. 3.5 ghz memory(i know strange number)
4. Windows 7

Also, I've seen people use the 9600GT at highish settings, and get 35-40 fps, which is decent considering that its as old as it is, but then again they had dual-quad core processors, which I know from experience does play a small role in gaming even though many people would disagree, for example in BC2 i remember seeing vids of the 9600GT getting 30 fps! i was like GREAT!
but when i bought it, I got like 3 fps, so i just want to know if there are any fellow Pentium 4 single core brethren out there who play bf3, could you tell me if it works well or not?

P.S. i could wait a few days, until i get the parts and save the hassle of reinstalling it, or I could buy it now and play it, but just was curious

You will have to most likely run everything on LOW at one of the LOWEST resolutions. No way was anyone truthfully running 35-40fps with a 9600gt regardless of the CPU. What happened to your new rig?
No.

My 4850 gets 30-40 FPS at low settings 1280x960 (I get 20-30fps at 1680x1050 native) so yeah, I have to bump down the resolution to play it smoothly with a 4850. (Which is the equivalent to a 9800GTX+/GTS 250)

Maybe if they were playing it at like 720 resolution they were getting those numbers, however I find it unlikely.

Also for reference sake, my rig could handle BC2 everything maxed out (except AA, AF) 1680x1050 with 50FPS.

you wont run bad company 2 at all even on lowest settings...
its because its not single core optimized..

so im guessing you wont be able to run battlefield 3 at all.
im saying youll get like 5fps
Nah its not going to run. Might as well try it though.

Yes. Yes it can.

Why? Because it's an EVGA rolleyes.gif.

BF3 requires a dual core processor minimum.
