Which ASRock mobo?

Which motherboard would you recommend with an i5-2500k CPU? Looking for a 4.5 - 5Ghz OC. Mainly using this for gaming.

ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3

1.) When I'm not running anything that requires my discrete GPU with the Z68 board, the CPU graphics will be enabled and the discrete GPU will be off right? So if I'm using the on-board graphics would I have to plug my monitor into the mobo input or will my monitor still work plugged into the discrete graphics card?

2.) Will both of these boards work fine with a Crucial m4 SSD so I could use it at its full potential? I was a little confused with what this means:

Z68: 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors (SATA3_1 connector is shared with eSATA3 port)

SATA_1 is shared with eSATA3 port, does that mean If i used the SATA_1 port with my Crucial m4 it would be slightly worse than using the other SATA3 port that isn't shared?

3.) On the Z68 mobo it says: 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE4: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4), or dual at x8 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4)) (PCI Express 3.0 with Intel Ivy Bridge CPU, PCI Express 2.0 with Intel Sandy Bridge CPU)

With SB will it be single at x16, dual at x8? If I later upgraded to Ivy Bridge would 1 PCI-E 3.0 slot run at x16 and 2 PCI-E 3.0 slots run dual at x8?

4.) Is this memory and water cooling kit compatiable with both mobos? Will I notice a difference between the CAS 8 and CAS 9? Would you recommend different memory with this mobo?

5.) What are the differences between the Extreme3 and Extreme4?

Thanks for your time! biggrin.gif
