Hey so im messing around i belive ive got a good chip so im trying to get 5ghz overclock however even though bios says ive got the multiplyer at x50 cpu-z claims ive got it at x48 And when running Intel Burn Test my clocks shoot around from 4ghz to 4.8 but never to 5 like i have them set why?

Need to up the max allowable amps....I dunno what it's called in MSI bios but it's probably set around '95', and there should be 2 settings. CPU is downclocking because it's not being allowed to use/throw more power. Needs to be raised to 200-250. Don't raise something that you don't know what it is though. I can't think of what it's called in my bios...cpu overvolt or something.

Also not sure what it's called on MSI boards but on ASUS boards it is CPU Current Capability and it can be set to 100%/110%/120%/130%/140%. I'd take a look in you BIOS or try to find some MSI specific guides on how to locate that.
