Sorry to bump an old thread, but do you guys think it's still worth WCing these cards? Blocks are around $100ish each, would I just be better off selling my 460's and buying a 480 or 580 +block?

A bit slow of a reply, but if you haven't already purchased blocks, it looks like Performance-pcs.com has the XSPC Razor 460 in stock again, at $60 per. I just ordered a pair, at that price it's definitely worth it for me to watercool these rather than sell them and get something newer.

Thread Starter
Hey guys I forgot about this thread lol. I was able to oc my 460's to 1ghz smile.gif granted its not 100% stable (I haven't extensively tested them yet though) and even with the volt mod at 1175mv, my cards idle at 28 average and 45 average for full load. Im able to get 50-55fps on bf3 with ultra settings (2x aa) @1080p and skyrim at 60fps average all ultra settings @1080p. In short, WATERCOLOR YOUR 460(S) IF YOU HAVEN'T YET. For how old these cards are becoming, they're still a huge contender for gaming performance...and this is all accomplished on my sig rig lol.

Yep, I won't be upgrading from 460's for a while still, the performance is great for the cost.

@BGKris: Looks like I might've got the last 2 blocks from performance-pcs, just after I got my shipping notice they went out of stock on the website again, sorry about that. At 110 per block, you could also get the EK block shipped direct from their website (here or here), so it's up to you which block you prefer. As for if it's worth it, that's a harder question to answer... You're going to spend more money to sell your 460's and get a 580+block, and get less performance than what you already had, so I'd be inclined to just go with the 460 blocks. However, if you get the 460 blocks, that's the end of the line for upgrades, you'll have to sell the 460's and their blocks to get more gpu power later. You're going to take a hit on the resale of the blocks, I'd not expect to get more than half of what you paid when you go to resell them later. I don't see a need to upgrade any time soon, since 2x 460's is plenty of power for any game currently out in a single-display setup, but if you expect you'll need more in a year, it might be better to move to a single 580 now and pick up a second 580 for SLI in a year or so.

(edit)
Just got my two XSPC blocks in, and I have to say, they do look sexy. They were both new, so it didn't come back in stock as a return, you might wait and see if they get them back in stock again. It's possible they just dug up a couple more they forgot they had, but they might be ordering small batches of them so they don't sit on a ton of them.
