So, we've had a few app lists here and there of people sharing apps and that was nice, but none of them ever really stuck around. Also, people are constantly asking for "Which Apps should I get for Android? I just rooted my phone, man!
I've helped many people get some of the best apps on Android and since I cherish my phone and search almost every night for new apps and games, I decided to compile a list of the best Android Apps on the market to help you all. I am proud to say it is the best Ultimate list on Google Search and is significantly more ordered, prepared and has had more time put into it than any other list I've yet to see. There are sites that review apps and go into much more detail, but I wouldn't say those sites are lists. In this thread, I will not only post pictures of the Apps, but will also include Android Market links as well as a brief description of the game or app and why I feel you should download it. I will also do my best to update this thread as often as I download new apps, have tried them out and decided to keep them. If you STROOOONGLY believe an app or game is worth mentioning that I do not have on my list, I will download it, try it out and decide whether it's worth mentioning. If I decide it's not worth adding, I'll let you know why. Otherwise, I'll add it to the list. There's no reason you should have an Android phone and stay on stock ROM without having tried whats out there! I strongly suggest you root your phone if you haven't already. You need to root your phone before you can ROM it anyway. You have a smartphone, use it to it's fullest capability. You won't break it. It's really simple. Check out XDA-Developers for more information on how to root and ROM your phone. Remember, just because the link to the Android Market may be the paid version, that doesn't mean there isn't a free version available as well. Just search for the application or game and see if a free version is available. Likewise, just because a free version was linked rather than the pay version doesn't mean that a paid version isn't available and with more features. This article has now been added to the official OCN Articles Section found here. A few Apps that I think will strongly benefit you all in acquiring paid apps FREE and LEGIT are Amazon App Store and GetJar. These 2 apps allow you to install full paid apps for free, no strings attached.
AdAway
AdAway is imo the best ad removal app on the market. I've tried AdBlock Plus and it simply blocked EVERYTHING and that wasn't good. I couldn't even get to some sites. It was also the heaviest ad block app I installed. I tried one that was much lighter, but felt it didn't do a great job for apps, just the internet, which is OK, but I don't like to see any ads if possible AdAway does that for me. That's why it's replaced other ad block apps on my list.
AdFree Android
AdFree Android is another excellent ad removal program for Android. Make sure to download the most up to date version as the old version has some problems removing apps on certain devices. Some say this is the best ad removal app on the market. Try between this and AdAway and you'll be set.
Amazon App Store This app cannot be downloaded on the Android Market. Instead you have to google "Amazon App Store," go to their website, put in your email address and they'll send you a link to download their app. This is a MUST HAVE application because they offer a PAID APP for FREE with lifetime updates EVERY DAY. You can't beat that.

Amazon Kindle
Amazon Kindle is an app for reading books, just like the Amazon Kindle tablet thing Amazon sells, only you don't need the tablet and can download the books on your phone. There are lots of free books available too.
Amazon Kindle (Click to show)
Astro File Manager Astro File Manager replaces ES File Manager on the list simply because it runs with less issues than ES File Manager, but if you prefer ES file Manager's UI to this one, feel free to use the other. There's no real difference, just preference, but due to this one working better on more devices without issue, this is the new go to file manager.
Astro File Manager (Click to show)
Beautiful Widgets Very nice looking clock widget that also shows you the weather with a nice little picture similar to HTC's clock, in case you are ROMing your phone and no longer have access to HTC Sense. Lots of skins to download for not only the clock, but the weather skin as well and battery skin.
Beautiful Widgets (Click to show)
Better Keyboard Pro/Smart Keyboard Pro These are 2 very good keyboards on the market. Many different styles and themes/colors of keyboards to download. The keyboards are very responsive, have a nice layout and best of all look amazing. They lack swype, but are good for everything else. Very convenient key placements as well with long touch numbers and symbols. Better Keyboard Pro is targeted at those that want complete skinning customization. Smart Keyboard Pro is targeted at those who want multiple languages and keyboard customization. SKP is also free on trial while BKP is paid only.

Doubletwist Player w/ Air Sync Doubletwist w/ Air Sync are 2 apps, 1 is a media player that works well enough and the other is a syncing program much like itunes except for Android. It syncs your music on your computer to your phone. I can't use it personally because have have nearly 300GB of music and there is no SD card out there that will fit all my music, but I'm sure someone with less music out there than I will find great use for it.
DoubleTwist Player w/ Air Sync (Click to show)
Easy Uninstaller Easy Uninstaller does as suggested. It uninstalls apps on your phone with ease. I have less of a use for it since I have MIUI now but still keep it in case I can't find an app. It lists all my apps neatly and allows me to mass uninstall as well rather than drag the app to the top of my screen one at a time in MIUI to uninstall it.

Evernote Evernote is an exceptional note taking application. I prefer it to every other note taking application. It's a very nice looking app that also saves notes on a cloud in case your phone gets wiped and you needed the information. You create an account and your files are saved to that cloud. Very fast access to files and includes phone data storage in case you don't have access to the internet to access those files on the internet.

Lookout Lookout is a spyware scanner of sorts that is absolutely free. I haven't tried the AVG ones, but honestly, I haven't had a need to use anything else. I have no viruses, am not stupid enough to install a virus and if there are would be a time when a virus would somehow get on my phone, I'm pretty sure Lookout would do it's job. It's also very pretty.

Google Music Google Music Beta is an alternative player to PlayerPro and PowerAmp Pro. This is actually free though compared to the other 2 and worth mentioning, especially since it's a google certified app. Those are usually quality apps. IMO, it's better on tablets than it is on phones, but to each their own. I'm personally sticking with PlayerPro.
Google Music (Click to show)
MSN: Mercury Best MSN program out there. I've tried MSN Talk and others, but this one has the most customization which if you have MSN, that's the reason we all use it. It's great customization. I can use icons/avatars of my choosing with MSN Mercury, I can choose the background of the application in the message for vertical and landscape (2 different backgrounds if I want), can choose custom colors and whatnot, very nice and free. Also has a paid edition which I recently upgraded to.

Nova Launcher
Nova Launcher is the best launcher out right now for straight forward launcher goodness. If you're looking for the ability to place items exactly where you want it, rotate them, mass drag and drop..you're looking at the wrong launcher. You're looking for Next Launcher. If you're looking for the ability to customize icons, control the number of home screens, animations for swiping screens etc..(basically what we currently think of a launcher as doing) then Nova Launcher stands at the top. Better than ADW, Launcher Pro, Go Launcher you name it. It's better. I'm no longer putting "top 3" and just going with the best.
Nova Launcher (Click to show)

PicShop PicShop is one of the best that I've run across. It can add borders to pics. Crop them. Add effects to them. Add filters to them. You can add lots of silly things to them like hats and mustaches. You can mirror it and basically completely customize the pic with ease. It's an excellent application for modifying pictures.
PicShop (Click to show)
PlayerPro IMO, the best music player on the market. I prefer it to PowerAmp Pro. It has awesome skin customization as well where you can choose the color/theme of the player. Has lots of EQ and bass knobs and such just like Power Amp Pro.

Pocket Informant This App has replaced Business Calendar for me. I managed to snag this app on Amazon App Store for free while it was free a couple days ago. I definitely recommend this app for those that like to stay current with news.
