I added Barcode Scanner, Dropbox, Jorte, & SlideIt Keyboard to the Miscellaneous list. Moved Adobe Flash 11 down to Misc as well. Added Photobucket Mobile to the app list. Changed the name of the thread from Simca's Ultimate Android App List to The Official Ultimate Android App List. Modified the beginning post slightly and am now reviewing NOVA 2 HD.

Luckily I catch those before pressing send...most of the time.

Yeah, I used the stock keyboard and browser for a few months. The original browser was actually quite superior for a long while, but then Dolphin HD and Opera Mobile Browser surpassed it in terms of speed and quality.

The stock keyboard also works great. I can see why people might not want to change from it. BKP and SKX are mostly for people looking for different styles, better word prediction or neat features not found in the stock keyboard.
Well, that's why SwiftKey X is so awesome, it actually gives excellent predictions, unlike some keyboards I've used. >_>

I totally agree about Opera Mobile Browser, I love it. X3 I have tried Dolphin HD, but didn't care for it.

I think it depends on the perception of RAM hogging. I mean, I just checked, it was using 16mb vs stock KB using 11mb, and Swype using 13mb. Sure, it's a little more, but nothing that would be giving any performance impact. Well, at least on my phone, anyway. XD

I'm not sure about your prediction comment, you'll have to elaborate on that for me. What I do know, is that every person I've introduced SwiftKey X to, later tells me how much better it is from what they were using (usually stock), or Swype.

edit: Ah, nvm, I see (regarding your 3 prediction on a screen comment). It actually only needs three, because it's usually correct within those parameters. That's why it's better, and known to be.

edit 2: Fine, I'm a fanboy. X3

Wow.. just found this thread.. Can't thank you enough! I got myself Samsung Galaxy S2 about a month ago and until now couldn't figure what are the best apps for it.. I always knew my fav OCN should have an answer but was too lazy to look. Thx Simca!

By the way, there is no MTUI for S2 still Is there any other good enough ROM for it?

Lots out there. VillainROM, CM7. Check out XDA-Developers for more.

Been using the SlideIt Keyboard and I have to say I like it a lot. Even words it shouldn't know it knows most of the time.

I'd rate it above SwiftKey X IMO, but I know SKX fanboys would beg to differ.

I still like BKP, but I'm using SlideIt for now.

But stock Gingerbread fits more on screen and are more often correct

Swiftkey is better at guessing before you start typing though, for sure.

It works for me...i've got an OG Droid with a RAM shortage so i take what i can get in a month or so i'll have a gig of it though.

Darn, I've read it wrong.. I read MTUI (too much Fallout NV) instead of MIUI.. I think I found it for SGS2.

Is this the right one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1307266

New version released today if I got it right

looks good... remember to do a backup and wipe your phone though, that is a major OS change right there.

Yeah, but I guess I need to root it first Haven't done it yet.

By the way, in the same section there are so many different ROMs.. My head goes round.. Is there no single MOST POPULAR ROM that would suit everyone's needs? Does MIUI fit or come close to such definition?

Judging by 16,000 replies and 3,300,000 views Lite'ning Rom seems extremely popular for SGS2. I guess it has been around longer or something?

Ah, might be an idea to do that then. No doubt XDA has a guide there for you to follow

As far as I've seen MIUI is the most polished rom around(including manufacturers UI's in that), nothing can match it currently(although it seems ICS might be getting there). Keep in mind that lots of people won't touch MIUI simply because it looks a lot like iOS, which imo is a silly reason. What I suggest is downloading heaps of different roms, flash each for a day or two and seeing what you like, you may be surprised(although I'll put money on it being MIUI ).
