Perhaps it might be more useful for those on inferior ROMs though.

Every ROM i've ever ran has had all those quick settings besides the stock ROM which was missing media volume and brightness. So I completely agree!

MIUI is based off of CM though.

In my opinion, MIUI is basically iPhone themed off of CyanogenMod. Granted there's more than that, but its not far off. Saying its not based off of CM though is just silly, as it is completely based off of that.

Even OEMs are putting quick access settings in the notification bar now. I know Touchwiz and Sense have it, not sure about Motorola.

I'm sorry, but I can't say that CM is awesome/good/special because it's completely barebones. That doesn't really interest me. I want it to look interesting, but fast and intuitive. Have everything easily accessible to me. CM doesn't do that for me.
If I want CM to look interesting, I have to download a bunch of 3rd party apps I could have installed on Stock ROM and am still limited to what I can do with it.
Lock screen mods, themes (the top, symbols, menus, dialers etc) are all customized and matching in MIUI.
I'm sorry if you disagree, but many people believe that MIUI is also infinitely more stable than CyanogenMod. I'm not even talking about Nightlies. Just the regular CyanogenMod.
I honestly can't think of anything CM does better than MIUI.
Maybe it's a fraction of a millisecond faster/smoother because it's barebones? Idk.

Okay where have I said that CM is better than MIUI? Heck I even agree with you on most of the things you brought up. All I said was that MIUI is built from CM source. I don't see how that is an opinion.

My point is, despite being built from CM's source, it's not at all like CM in functionality and appearance.

I could start a home's frame structure the same and have 2 very different end results. That's my point.

It's Android. It HAS to function virtually the same. End user controls are all that's different.

lol, if you want to take it that literally, sure, then why do we all get different ROMs if they all do the same thing anyway?

Minor tweaks. I have no problem with your love for MIUI, but you're portraying it to be practically not even Android. It's not that different from CM..MIUI devs are rom cookers, not OS cookers.

I hardly think it's similar enough to CM to be considered a tweak.

I think there's enough work done to MIUI to make it stand out on its own as a completely separate and different rom than others. Now, I could go through every single aspect and tell you why it's different in so many ways, or we could acknowledge this fact and move on.

Sure, it's not 100% new and different. It's a phone. It's still Android. you have apps and and games on your screen. Of course that's not going to change. It's not like putting Windows 7 on your phone, sure, but it's nowhere near barebones.

What you can do with MIUI without having to download third party software/apps is beyond what CM offers.

The notifications/toggles tabs in the drop down menu with brightness controls and all kinds of toggles (3g, 4g, wifi, bt etc) is brilliant.

MIUI is a person with flesh and skin while CM is more a skeletal frame.

And if you like that skeletal framework, awesome, more power to you, go download CM, but if you want a ROM that's had a lot of care put into it with great stability, then go for MIUI.

And as an ending note, MIUI has a very unified look to it. Everything looks like it flows together. The dialer, menus, and all the little apps that come with the phone like the camera and picture gallery all look cohesive. They look like they were designed by the sane team whereas cm looks like they had different departments working on different aspects of the phone.

I'll have some more games up soon.
