For those of you interested: I snagged one of these off of Newegg when it was one of those shocker deals, it was 27.99 I think after rebate....

I had asked around on here and had mixed opinions on if it would power a gtx460 cyclone. Well, I set it up yesterday, and so far so good.

Its currently powering:

asus dvd, multi card reader, gtx460 msi cyclone, phenom II x6 1035t(95 watts) and a single HD. I've run Prime several times while OC'ing the CPU, and will keep running more test throughout the night.

So far, so good. And at that price a steal.

good to hear its working for you. i would be careful though. ive run a 450watt on a pentium 4 system with a HD3870 and a few harddrives, so much below your systems power usage and with a bit of overclocking and running crysis it exploded. just a heads up.

I will... BTW, the 460 in the rig right now is mine, and this system I'm building for my lady. I'm suspecting I'll end up putting something along the lines of a 5770 in it instead....she games very little, but will be doing lots of photoshop and some encoding with this PC.

A quality 430 watts should be able to handle that and this one is a good one. Just don't do some large overclocks on any components cause it will blow up.

i would get a stronger cpu instead of using much money on a gpu. Even a 5770 isn't needed for what she uses for.

I would start of using a 1050t or a 1075t. Don't bother using any gpu for now. See how that runs because photoshop/encoding mainly relies on cpu/ram. On board GPUs now aren't slouches as it was like before.

The motherboard I have doesn't have onboard. Secondly, I've gotten this 1035t up to 3.4 ghz, and I'll know by the end of the night if it is stable.
