Battlefield 3 Crossfire issues? Complete list of known fix's here! 12.1 A and 11.12 CAP 2 inside! - Page 14

Just an update, I disabled HT and the game runs better, but I still get the fps drops. Those drops do however happen less frequent. I re-enabled vsync to make it smoother gameplay as well (my fps rarely drops below 60 with it on). This is with everything on ultra and AA off. My cpu still runs from 68-76 during game play, so I think I will buy a new heatsink/fan even if that isn't my fps drop issue haha. The only problem with the 212 is that I will most likely have to remove my side case fan that I just bought XD. It was only $9, oh well.

If that fan is a 120mm you can use it on the other side of the 212 for push pull

OP updated.

Cleaned up the OP, defined the tweak section more, and added a few more possible fixes.

Right now I am tired of having to tweak my Computer to get to work. I have installed and uninstalled Catalyst several times running the latest drivers done everything mentioned at the beginning of this thread, flipped the cards and nothing have worked.

Everything I have done everything I can think of and the game will still run inconsistent fps' and lag badly after 3 minutes. It has even crashed twice.

Everything is clocked normally so there shouldn't be an issue right?

I am so tired of doing this that right now I am running the game on medium settings with a single card.

Already planned on it haha. I think I might use the fan it came with as the pull and use the new fan for pushing air in. I'd keep that fan at max speed too. I don't care about the loudness.

Also, I am experiencing the green flashes as well while using 1 card, I don't think I get them with 2. I also noticed my cpu usage is at around 80-90% while running this game O.O. And I have an i7 920 2.66Ghz. I think that might be causing the fps drops from 100 to 1-10ish. So people with crossfire setups with average cpu's, start up task manager and look at the cpu usage graph while playing a round or 2. My cpu fan should be in by tomorrow and I'll overclock my cpu. I'll post my results about game play after. (using two 6850s for people not seeing my other posts)

I tried running it again on Crossfire and on Grand Bazaar it ran smoothly at 30+fps on ultra with low AA but on Caspian Border it was running smoothly for a while and then started to slowing down to single digits fps' when smoke appeared and a lot of movement took place. I ended up turning down all the settings to medium.
Is this normal? Should I just wait until EA/ AMD releases a new patch?

turn off AA and tell me how much fps you get. I run mine on ultra with AA off and get nowhere near 30fps (until I get my random fps drops to single digits). I usually stay around 70-100 on all maps. I have crossfire 6850s as well. Unless you have a higher resolution than I do (I'm at 1920x1080).
