Do you also think that AMD aren't trying to get XFire and dual-GPU cards working correctly too ?

Dude i never talked about going sli with nvidia next gen... I think my cards are great but the problem related to theses doesn't give me any advantage over the 550$ i paid for them. I wish/hope/pray (lol) that both companies are working hard to fix it but it's now a month and half now that BF3 is out and there no great improvement in it. It's sad but true. I won't change my cards actually i'm waiting on an awesome 100% fixing patch or the nvidia next gen.

I know my Crossfire is supposed to be awesome and everything. If i,m always over 60 fps i'm happy. But i'm not happy with GTA IV and BF3 atm. =)

With you. Whether it's Nvidia or Amd, I will probably be going single card next time if at all possible. Xfire has been a pretty dismal experience especially with the latest release of the biggest games.

I should have learned the first time (went from 1 GTX 260 to 2xGTX260 in SLI, then ditched both those cards for 1 5870, then bought my buddy's second 5870, so now I am trying to get those to run right.)

I should have learned but noo..

As soon as the next gen comes out, Im buying the best single card. I guess in this hobby you are either an early adopter or you never have the best of the best.

Sorry I'm at work at the moment. Most sites are blocked.

I just tried the supposed "11.12" drivers on 3dguru and it says I am running catalyst 11.5.

Is that just because its a beta driver and they didnt code in the proper catalyst number?

Well the 11.12 does run pretty good, I usually run 60-80 fps, sometimes up in the 110-120, but then an explosion happens or smoke and i drop down to about 40, which in BF3 40 feels like 10.

Must just be the game at this point, which is a shame. I want it to run butter smooth and I hate that even 2 5870s cant do that. Meh, maybe I am just picky.

So I'm kinda late to the BF3 scene but I've been reading and keeping track of all the nightmarish issues it's had with crossfire setups since it came out.

I installed the game yesterday and did a complete new install with official 11.11 + CAP3 (uninstalled 11.10 and driver-sweep-ed it) and so far my experience has been pretty good with fps averaging 70-90 in multiplayer with everything ultra-ed out and vsync off. I'm not really seeing the microstutter either but I haven't played enough to really make sure. I'm running 2x6950's (shader unlock) at 900/1400 with MSI AB, 1920x1080 res.

I guess I got lucky the first time around...

Are you seeing 100% GPU utilization for both cards?

With the 11.12 beta drives Im getting 90+% in both GPUs on my 5870s.

However, it says its driver version 11.5, and I get an error message whenever I start BF3 (just have to close it then ti loads, but its annoying).

I think this weekend I will be re-installing windows and then installing the official 11.11 + cap 3 again.

Im sick of trying "performance" drivers because I see almost no gain in using them.

I have two 5870´s too and have the same problems tumdace.
GPU-Utilization is about 85-95% on both GPUs, similar since the 11.11b 11/25.
With the 11.11c and 11.11CAP2 it runs smoothest, 11.11 and 11.9cap4 has also been OK.
But still have disturbing stuttering, mostly having around 120fps but feels like 25-40fps.

In Serious Sam 3 BFE i have 35/35%, but feels OK since 11.11.c+CAP3. Before i had 40-80fps, looking like 10-20fps, gotting really sick after 10minutes of play (really !)

Dont think I buy AMD cards for a while. With my 7950GX2 and the 9800GX2 I never had any problems like this.
