Yeeep, no matter what drivers I use I still get the same asstastic GPU usage.... definitely poor multi GPU optimization on both AMD's and Dice's end

And ye Im getting the same dips in Oman as well. But it's really like that in every map.

And were not alone I keep reading everywhere that people with CF are having the same issues regardless of CPU.

I hope they get this situated before they decide to release any 7k series card.
This reminds me of how bad the performance was on BC2 and it took almost a year to get it sorted out and fully optimized.

Some karkan maps are money for me (75-125fps), but Oman fluctuates badly. And yes, reminds me of BC2. Remember how long the game worked properly on Nvidia cards before Ati got it together? I think it was 2-3 months before they fixed the bug where it took Ati owners 60-90 seconds to load a map...

Still haven't found a driver/CAP combination that lets me enable crossfire and play for more than 10 minutes. ...AND I can't get Oman to load at all mad.gif

Would you mind dropping some links to where you are reading these issues regardless of cpu? (whole threads are fine) I'm very seriously considering a costly upgrade for my cpu/mobo/ram and if it's not going to make a difference, I'd really like to avoid wasting the money.
What kind of gpu usage are you seeing on your setup?
Thanks.

Cpu does make a big difference in the game, even if some issues still persist.

I have 12.1 preview and 11.11 cap3 installed. Crossfire works beautifully but I've just discovered a heavy CPU bottelneck by my Q6600 at 3.5ghz. Damn these 6850s are powerful.

Btw, I was playing BF3 on lowest settings, 1080p.

Aye, turns out it wasn't drivers, it was an issue with my RAM holding my system back check this thread out:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1184804/solved-i-need-the-absolute-best-triple-channel-ram

Turns out running Dual channel ram with horrible timings was holding back my CPU bottlenecking my 6990.
Before with Dual channel:
bf320111212200602448.png

After swapping my ram sticks to Triple channel: Notice My FPS nearly DOUBLED in performance. Notice the 99% CONSTANT GPU pegging
bf320111215164522272.png

Also as for Gulf Of Oman my game no longer dips into the 50's-40's now runs SILKY smooth. These were the absolute lowest FPS drops I could find I checked several spots on the map.

bf320111215160950221.png
bf320111215161355857.png

Up to last night, I had NO idea that ram was so crucial with overclocks and gaming performance. Mind you I'm still running Triple Channel 6GB 1600Mhz Corsair Dominators.

And REGARDLESS of drivers I had the same exact performance from 10.xx-12.1 which I'm now using 12.1 + CAP 3 no stuttering no lag.

I'm very pleased with the outcome, and the game runs flawlessly now my FPS runs true to Tom's Benchmark even in MP.

7990 in March here I come.
