Did you try to give it more voltage than the stock 1.5v?

This is Cruk's fix mentioned somewhere else in this forum, I just wanted to repeat his fix so that people with Crossfire/Eyefinity setups can make their game play buttery smooth!

Here is my system:

i7 920 2600 4.0ghz
XFX 6950 2gb in Crossfire
Asus p6t Deluxe V2
8 Gig Kingston HyperX 1800ghz

With a 5020x1080 rez with the Bezel compensation.

Problem: I was achieving good FPS (40-90) with this configuration, but the game just didn't appear smooth as I moved around the maps. (microstutter?)

Solution: The biggest fix was described by CruK, when you enter game type in 'Gametime.maxvariablefps 40'. On my system I have mine set at 37.

Entering the Gametime command will get you more buttery smooth play in BF3, raising your FPS in general, I suggest these other steps.
Also, I will note the differences I noted in FPS for each change. My scene was the Wake Island airfield selection screen.

HBAO - Off (gained 10 fps)
Motion Blur - Off (gained 4 fps)
AA Deferred - Off (10-30fps depending on level)
Quality Settings - All ULTRA (caviat: I did note that turning down Texture Mesh and Shadow Quality helped about 5-10fps)
FOV - 90 or 60, I noted no difference.

renderdevice.forcerenderaheadlimit 0 (typed in console, gained 5 fps)

This made my Eyefinity/Crossfire experience in BF3 amazing. I love the game and love my rig so much more now!

What's your GPU usage load? I get a clean 40fps average in 5760x1080 all ultra just no MSAA. I don't, however, get the spikes upwards up to 90 like you are saying. My problem is even if I turn my settings down the FPS stays the same. My GPU usage is too low in eyefinity for some reason frown.gif

Thread Starter
Hey guys, sorry for my absence! Updated thread title and OP, added 12.1 links!

I've taken all old links and put them in a NEW section at the BOTTOM of the OP called the "Archive section" for reference.

Any news on anything else coming out besides 12.1 with the latest cap that seems to only fix Anno 2070?

Not that I'm not happy using it, But I am open to an improved driver that could squeeze out a few more frames in BF3. biggrin.gif
