Games run really smooth.. The correct setting in my config file is:
gametime.maxvariablefps 59.5
Remember to enable vsync and that command.. Sucks that I don't go over 60FPS, but this allows you to enjoy the quality of vsync with no mouse lag at all...

Funny... 12.1 has no CAPS... its all built into the CCC....

I had an issue when I tried to install my two 6990 quadfire last week. i was getting really bad fps (less than 30) and saw from MSI Afterburner that my gpu usage was below 25% on all four cores. The problem persisted with just one 6990 installed (where I was getting less than 40% gpu usage on both cores). Furmark had the four (and later the two) cores running at 99%.

I tried many things I've read to no avail. As a last resort, I reinstalled windows, 11.12 driver, no CAP, and the problem went away. Was able to run 4x core and 2x core at close to 99% and was getting great fps.

One variable to note (tho don't know if that would make a difference) is that prior to the windows reinstall, I had BF3 installed on my C drive, which is a SSD with approx 10gb of free space left (after game was installed). After new windows, I reinstalled BF3 into my D drive, which is a standard HD with alot of free space.

So, if anyone is still having problems, might want to try a reinstall of your OS... ?

Just to update, I have improved my performance by turning antialiasing post off and turning v-sync off. It looks and feels smoother to me now.

I am still on the locked shaders and stock clocks on my 6950s. Later this weekend I might try unlocking them and pushing up towards the 6970 clocks, just to see if there's any more I can get out of the system. I want to keep my OC'ing relatively modest. I'm at just under 4.5Ghz on my 2600K and that's about as far as I'm willing to go.

For my rig, this was the biggest performance increase came from: gametime.maxvariablefps 37

Finally my game is perfect, to the guy that gave the max fps 59.5 suggestion thank you that completly fixed my game. i had been running with it at 59 but there was still stuttering and i didn't think the game would recognize ".5" increments. I put it at "59.5" no input lag no stutter PERFECTLY smooth with cat 12.1 no caps. awsome!

Ok...I myself am getting pretty frustrated.

My rig atm :

ASUS P7P55D
G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 2000 running at 1600
i7-860
(2 in crossfire) SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X 4890 1gb
11.12 drivers

Now, using just 1 vid card, I run BF3 very well, at above med settings...super smooth, awesome fps.

Adding the 2nd card into crossfire gives me the micro stutter, along with lag spikes/stutters every few minutes at the exact same vid settings.

i just purchased 16gb of G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4x4gb) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 and gonna swap out the 4 gb in there now with the 16gb. Gonna see if my mem was bottlenecking.

Until then, any words of wisdom, as I am soo disappointed with crossfire performance! i dont mind playing with just the one card, but would love to crank up the settings with both cards. I know I'm DX10 limited, but why would it microstutter so and lag stutter with both cards???? When i get the mem, I with update to 12.1 too.

I switched to 12.1 prev with 11.9 cap 4. I am rocking bf3 now. Max gpu usage. It even maxes my processor now.

Still go stutters while flying or driving though. Oh wells.

Hello all,

I recently bought my second Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 Graphic card and inserted it into my PC. But now it seems I don't get 100% GPU Usage in like every game I play (BF3, Skryim, Just Cause 2, SC2), except "Heaven 3D Benchmark 2.5". I deleted all the drivers I had before with ATIman Uninstaller. Then reinstalled 12.1 and did the same for some older drivers aswell (+caps). I don't think my computer itself isn't the problem; specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
RAM: GeIL 8GB DDR3-1333 KIT
Videocard: x2 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6950
Motherboard: ASROCK 890FX Deluxe 3
Power: Antec Earthwatts 750 Watt

I'm quite sure both GPU's are running in the 16x lanes. (the blue ones on my motherboard). So what else can I try? I tried every tweaks also in this topic and of other forums. I also tried changing graphic settings etc in-game & drivers. NOTHING CHANGES!

Please help...

EDIT 1: I ofcourse disabled V-sync on all games.
