Water Cooled to be silent and safe? Really?

Hey guys,

Let me start off with some basic parts for my new build in November.

CPU: Sandy Bridge E 3930k
Mobo: gigabyte x79 UD5

one regular SATA 2 1tb internal drive, and 2 ssd crucials 250gb x2

Graphics: SPARKLE Calibre Series X560 DF GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0

PSU: Fatality professional series.

My friend won't stress enough that to get this processor to 4.5gz, quietly and efficiently, I should be looking at these parts:

block

It's about $300 set up, and is a bit pricey considering the expensive processor and mobo alone.

This set up is for Audio so silence would be great, but I'm wondering if I can have a air cooled system almost as quiet.

A tech also mentioned these set upts, but they look a bit sketchy:

Thanks!

watercooling would be a good way to keep the noise levels down, but you dont need a $300+ loop to do it.

something like this would be fine:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11...l=g30c321s1310

half the cost and will do you just as well for your needs. no real need for a expensive water cooling setup for an audio system.

First things first.

1. FrozenCPU is generally the most expensive place around - only go there when no one else has it, look at jab-tech.com, John will deliver for cheaper.

2. A single 355 pump can power all your needs.

3. Different Radiator. Black Ice GT isn't worth it, look at the XSPC rads, same price with twice the performance.

4. You have to have fans on the rad, quiet fans can get pricey fast. Gentle Typhoons.

Everything else looks ok, you still need tubing and fitings.

EDIT: Yeah, Kal pretty much nailed it.

Yeah, Jab-Tech is great. FrozenCPU is expensive and slow. Their CEO even asked me "what the hell is your order number?" when I made an inquiry.

Thanks for the info, but I must be blind because I don't see the CPU block and cant tell if it's clear or not. And correct me if Im wrong but the pump is strong enough to eliminate the need for a reservoir?

So it's confirmed then, no such thing as a silect AIR cooled PC for OC'ing to 4.5-5gz?
generally, 4.8 is the limit for air cooling for intel's second gen sandybridge. after that you'd want to go water. not sure about the silent part since i dont have one, but you can hit 4.5 easily with a high end air cooler with, idk, minimal noise, noctua comes to mind. that more depends on the fans you get.
i would stay away from the all-in-one coolers. ive had the H50 since august and im already tired of it, gonna go water for xmas
also i can vouch for frozencpu taking forever, they shipped some AP-15s a week and a half after they said they would.

Also for the rad the Swiftech MCR or XSPC EX series will do well with low power fans and its pretty cheap.

CPU block you could go with the XSPC Raystorm which performs well and is lower priced.

For the pump I'd swap to the Swiftech 35x since you won't need to buy a separate pump top.

Also another good shop is http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/

There is also http://www.performance-pcs.com/ I've never had an issue with them but some people have.

If its for an Audo setup, why the hell do you need a SB CPU at 4.5GHZ?

What are you actually going to use this for ? Give example please

Hell, I'm running a i7 970 @ 4.4 on an H50 (though it gets up to 70*C when running Prime95).
