I've got 4 gb of VRAM and 6 gigs of system RAM. I've got zero free memory when I play.

Just upgraded from 4gb to 8gb today. Haven't tested it a whole lot but already it feels like it's better. Few more FPS in MP especially in the 64player scenarios when things get crazy.

With RAM so cheap I don't know why I didn't have 8gb already.

Well, I've tried both now. Getting max @ 3.48 GB on a 64 player server in MP, and 3 GB in SP in the heaviest action. Not much difference.

Increased from 4GB to 8GB, before usage was in the mid 3's, now I'm in the low 4's.

I have 4Gb, and I notice nothing Everything is smooth as butter. This is a game where a single powerful GPU really shines I guess... Was thinking of getting another 6950, but it's already smooth enough. I'll wait a few generations!

Off topic, but has anybody thought of loading BF3 onto a ramdisk?

Haha, I was one of those people. I figured my 3gb of system ram + 1gb of vram was perfect, guess not!

In my defense, most games don't gobble up THAT much!

You guys should remember that multiplayer is wwaaaaay more taxing than singleplayer. In bad company 2 which uses the same engine I used medium settings in 32 player matches just to keep everything smooth all the time.

I would love to buy some cheap ram but I really don't want to have to re-do my OC... so I will make due for now. Maybe a CPU and RAM upgrade in the near future will be worth it.
