i use around 6-7gb when i play, thats just the game open, and closed firefox server browser.

I had fps spikes as well with my current system, and then I popped additional 4gb I had laying around. It was like night and day, I was able to alt tab very fast, and ingame it was so much smoother than before. Game settings are everything on high. I would definitely recommend 8gb for the norm now!

Hey what problems are people having with SLI? I just installed a second nvidia gts250. and what are people talking about when they mention HT?

Not really the right thread....

HT=Hyperthreading, people having issues with stuttering have been able to solve it by turning this off in the BIOS

Not sure if it's SLI related but I'm still getting Green/Orange flashes

Starting with Origin and Battlelog open in Chrome, I'm using about 2.2GB's. When BF3 is loaded on top of all that and the server has been through 2 or 3 maps, I can see 6.5 - 7GB's being used.
It's definently worth getting at least 6 gigs, you can get 8 for 45 bucks. It's not worth it... not to.
