Thread Starter
Hey guys!

I just upgraded a few parts on my rig.. just got a NZXT Phantom and an i5 2500k.. just wanted to know of any recomendations on a CPU cooler.. And is it worth using the 200mm side fan and using a slightly smaller CPU cooler?

thanks heaps guys!

if you can fit it in your case then Noctua D14 is the best air cooler you can buy at the moment.
if its too big then try Thermalright HR-02 Macho.

how much are you planning on over clocking?? the d14 will be complete overkill on that processor, especially when u can spend $25 and get a cm +212. that will more then adequately cool it

""I just overclocked my i5 2500k and have been stress testing it with prime95 for 3 hours. However im not sure if my temperatures are okay.

It is running in 4.5 ghz in 1.280 volage

MAX TEMPS AT LOAD
CPUID:
Core 0- 67 celcuis
Core 1- 72 celcius
Core 2- 71 celcius
Core 3- 68 celcius

and right now it hovers around 65-70c

CORE TEMP:
Core 0- 70 celcuis
Core 1- 75 celcius
Core 2- 74 celcius
Core 3- 71 celcius

hovers aorund 68-73c

are these temps too high?

btw my cpu cooler is a CM 212 ""

i did not compare. read what I said.
I said if it dont fit, then get the macho.

if he cant fit the D14 then Silver Arrow wont fit either.

cheers guys.. d14 and silver arrow will fit without the side panel fan.. would i really need to need the side fan? considering my case has 2x 120mm fans towards the front of the side panel and the 200mm side panel fan sitting over the cpu..

side panel fans are not needed so you are ok there.
sounds like you got extra fans in the case so you will be fine.
