After watching both the reviews on OC3D TV i gotta say i prefer the aesthetics of of the Outlaw. The airflow seems decent enough on both cases and the Merc Alpha seems to have better cable management. So if i had to pick i'd have the Merc, Cable managment wins over aesthetics. To be honest anything would be an improvement over my current case which was a £20 box with a fan on the front because i had no money and no where to put my parts. I love a good quality component and you'll get honest feedback when its cheap to use as well as the cost.

I like the outlaw case, alot. My tower is on the left side on my desk (sits to the left of me on the desk in the corner), so I'm always having to spin it around to get access to my components. Love that it has 4 USB's on the front, very handy...lots of fan options, always nice. Beats the hell out of my Dell case, that's for sure. Aesthetics looks really nice, love matte finish over glossy...especially digging the flipped chassis though. Fronts simple, not overly flashy and doesn't look like a rave party is going on, so that's definitely a plus

Gaming chassis are becoming hugely important. With the console hardware becoming dated, more and more gamers are looking to buy gaming PC's again or for the first time. For this group of folks, they are simply looking to get an inexpensive and simple chassis to hold their parts, yet still get great performance out of it. Both of these cases look absolutely perfect for that crowd. I've had some experience building in a few different BitFenix cases for a few friends, and these cases are looking to do even better.

I'm one of the main contributers to the "I need a new PC" thread on Neogaf, where the aforementioned group looks for advice on getting a gaming PC up and running, and we're always short on good recommendations for inexpensive gaming cases. A good experience with one of these cases would allow me to give a thumbs up. I think the Outlaw, with the inverted mobo tray and spots for side panel fans is looking like a prime choice. I would love to test it out. I even have a motherboard and proc that are sitting around waiting for a project.

*edit*
Upon looking closer, I noticed that these accept ITX motherboards. The choices for a gaming chassis that supports ITX and full sized GPUs is basically nonexistent outside of the $100 Silverstone, Lian Li, and Fractal ITX cases. What a great decision to add support for that kind of motherboard.

I would love to test out the Merc Alpha, I actually own an Antec 902 on a different system that died yesterday and I realized with time it doesn't really have a the timeless appeal I thought it would have.

Despite being budget both the Merc and the Outlaw have a nice unibody construction and a smooth finish. No, real boundaries when it comes time to clean gradual dust build up (by the looks of it) and if I want to take it to LAN with friends I wouldn't have to worry about all the excess weight.

In addition I plan on starting up a youtube channel in the future (gaming oriented + hardware and peripheral reviews.) and having two cases to pit against each other would be a bonus for me.

Both cases appear simple, yet elegant with their smooth lines and simple design. More so with the outlaw, Which surprise surprise, the motherboard is reversed, which seems like a delightful proposition. I would love the opportunity to review it, or even the merc, and with permission could even see about doing a clean mod to it, maybe just a tear down and paint.

I would have to say I love the Merc Alpha. It looks like it can be very easily modded and the water cooling support it's capable of is a big plus. I like the sleekness to it, nothing really extravagant, yet it looks like it would get the job done. and done very well.

I would love to try my hand at painting it. I have an itch do do another color mod. I was thinking metallic blue or orange.

I would like to test both of there cooling capacities, see which one I could get the best temps out of. I think the Merc Alpha might do better but who knows at this point.
