Best 200mm fan for silent case?

Thread Starter
hi all,

I just bought a Corsair 600T SE and tried out the stock 200mm fans hooked up to the fan controller. On the lowest possible setting these fans drown out everything because they are so incredibly loud. Even with headphones on, playing music and bf3 I can still hear the case fans. These will definitely need upgrading to something more quiet. Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks

There won't be room for a 30mm thick fan if you plan to have the HDD bays there. Only a 20mm fan. The problem primarily comes from the front fan and its proximity to the metal grill. So cut the metal grill if you can, get a different 200x20mm fan or get the Coolermaster 30mm fan and don't have the HDD bays there. I think one HDD bay can be moved down on the bottom of the case, if it's like the 650D.

Thanks! I'm going to cut the grill, the hdd bay is no issue as I have only one bay installed next to the power supply. I'll upgrade the fan after if the grill doesn't solve the issue.

actually that's very weird.. mine are very quiet even at full.
are they both equally loud? maybe one is defective. if it's only one, you should RMA corsair for a replacement before you go spending money on new ones

weird that it makes a racket even at low volts.

have you tried at 5v or 7v?
