I have a P4 2.8HT in my basement paired with a HD4650 and 2gb of ram. Runs wins 7 really well. I am happy with it. I only use it maybe 3 hours a week, but it works great.

I recently re-build my ASUS CUV4X-C motherboard, with an P3 866MHz and 2x 512MB 133MHz SD-RAM and the once oh so mighty ASUS Riva TnT 2 Ultra with a full 32Mb of SD-RAM with VIVO (Video In/Video Out) and the freaking thing worked again

The reason was because a collegue from my work wanted a new one, and I already forgot it was my TNT2 Ultra in there... Pure nostalgic build though

And his system was even worse... Can you believe it, in September 2011 he was still "workin" on a computer like this:

AMD 800MHz
1x 128Mb 100MHz SD-RAM
Normally onboard graphics (but I gave him my TNT2U )
On a 14" CRT...

Now I had to build a new one for him:
He wanted to spent 1,412.82$ (1k €) for a whole new one
It became:
ASUS P8P67 (B3) standard, not Pro/Deluxe/...
2500K with stock fan (the K was cheaper than the 2500???)
2x 2Gb Vengeance 1600MHz
1x ASUS GTX560 DC
2x WD Caviar Black 1Tb 7k2rpm 64Mb
Sony DVD R(W) SATA
Corsair GS600 PSU
Antec 300
Keyb+mouse
ASUS 24" Full HD

He was happy after that upgrade

I have one setup for my parents they use it as htpc and basic browsing.
It was the first computer I ever had for me. Got it on my birthday back in 2004.

HP m1070n
P4 2.8 w/ HT (yay) runs solid @ 65 degree Celsius at idle and about 80 under heavy video decoding load.
3gigs ddr (originally had 512mb)
120gig ide (originally had 160gb sata - now dead)
ATI Radeon 4350 512 ddr2 ( came with ATI 128 DDR)
DVD writer (Original)
500w Rosewill (originally had 350w)

It was a nice rig , believe it or not but the original rig with 128mb ddr vram played Crysis at 800x600 resolution med settings with slight overclock on graphics card and 1.5gig ram

I am still not eager to part away with this bad boy. Next upgrade would be a SSD. I wonder how well would it perform with it.

They were pretty sweet back in the day. I have an old IBM with a P4 @ 1.8 on socket 478 I donated to my bro and sis, and my mom's work computer (office is in our house) is the same, but one of those old Dells. I have a dead 2.8 Ghz S478 as my keychain, as well

My mom's work computer was so bad, you could see it draw the desktop line by line if you minimized something. It somehow got stuffed up with like 20 gigs of random crap I got rid of in a few minutes with ccleaner and defragged it, suddenly it's back to its normal slowness
