help w/ my i7 950 (former amd user)

Thread Starter
just finished assembling my new intel rig. an i7 950 with a gigabyte x58 ud3r. I absolutely know nothing about intel. I'm idling about 45 degrees on my corsair h60. is this normal? I think I overapplied the tim on m7 h60. how do I overclock this thing? what's the average overclock on a i7 950? any links or posts would be really appreciated

This guide has just about everything!

Also, I would say your idle temp is a bit high, unless your ambient temp is a little hot also. What are your load temps?

Re-seating the h60 would probably be a good idea to see if you can bring the temps down
